Ryokan Okayama

It's in a great location for skiing, the rooms are spacious, and the food is plentiful and delicious. However, it is a bit disappointing that meal time is limited.

My husband and I stayed here for the hot springs. Since there is only one open-air bath on the premises, the open-air bath is open to men and women at different times, so you can't use the open-air bath whenever you like. Also, the indoor baths are very small (there aren't many washing or changing areas), and even though there are about 10 rooms, there aren't enough baths. The rice was certainly delicious, but I felt it was rather expensive. Therefore, it was a low evaluation for me, who was only interested in hot springs. I think it's good for those who prioritize food, but if you're looking for a hot spring, you should look elsewhere.

My family of 5 stayed here for one night. First, when I arrived at the inn, I was warmly welcomed. I was shown to my room, and when I told her I would like to know when the private bath was available, she said she would call the room to confirm. However, no matter how long I waited, the phone did not come, so I gave up and took a bath in the regular public bath. Even though I had planned to reserve a private bath for Ji****ba's room when I made the reservation, there was no confirmation at the time of reception at the beginning, and when I asked about it in the evening, I was told that there were no more free times. It was very disappointing. The meal was very filling, and the salt-grilled sea bream was the best. It was a dish with a ratio of about 8:2 between mountain and sea food. The chestnut rice came out first and I was so full that I regretted not eating the last sukiyaki, so I regretted not eating the rice while I was eating. Thank you for the meal. However, let me say one thing: I was a little surprised that the dinner menu for elementary school students was a children's lunch. Fried shrimp, fried chicken, hamburger, miso soup, and rice. The price is quite reasonable for elementary school students, so I thought that a menu with fewer items would be more of a treat for adults. The hot spring water was very hot as it was summer. It was so hot that I couldn't stay in it, but the quality of the spring water was so good that my skin became smooth. It looks like winter will be a little warmer. It was quiet and comfortable at night. When I checked out, I was told that the Niigata Discount would be applied, but I was not given enough explanation that I would have to cancel all the online payments I had made and pay on-site, so I canceled my online reservation. I was suddenly told that I would like to process the payment and repay it in cash, but since I usually use cards and electronic money, I happened to have cash on hand this time, but since the amount was the amount, I wondered if it would be enough. I was so excited. I tried to pay by card on the spot, but was told that only MasterCard could be used. Please be careful if you want to pay by card. Overall, I was satisfied with the inn, but there were a lot of things that were noticeable, and I was particularly not happy with the final checkout, so I gave it 3 stars.

◎Good points - The facility looks new and makes you feel comfortable.・As this is an inn listed in the Michelin Guide, we were able to enjoy delicious dishes made with local ingredients both in the evening and in the morning (although the miso soup was seasoned to different tastes...).・And the splendor of the mountains of Myoko is another attraction of this inn. The view of Mt. Myoko in the morning is worth seeing. I couldn't see it from my room, but I could clearly see it from the lobby and entrance. The best thing to do is take a morning walk and look at the scenery. ▽Unfortunate part - When I arrived at the inn, the staff was not at the entrance...When I parked my car in front of the entrance and looked inside the entrance, a person who appeared to be a staff member turned towards me and looked at me. It's there, but it never comes out. I don't want to be overly harassed when I arrive (I'm urged to get out of the car quickly), but there's no guidance on where to park...and the parking lot isn't well-maintained (no white lines or anything like that). It's hard to get lost in that... I would have liked for them to respond in some way when a car that looks like a customer arrives.・The open-air bath is not available in spring. I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to enjoying the open-air bath overlooking Mt. Myoko. But I have to visit again to use the open-air bath! This is an inn that makes you think...・For breakfast, there was a wide variety of menus, so I couldn't help but want to order a second helping of rice, but it was difficult to do so (there was no staff, the push button was out of order...it would have been better if they had left a bowl...). ☆I have written many things, but overall it is a good accommodation. This is a recommended inn.
