Lime Resort Myoko ★★★★
"The rooms were spacious; we booked one Western-style and one Japanese-style room. The hotel's public bath was also very comfortable, and it wasn't crowded during our stay, making it a wonderful place to soak after skiing. The hotel is also not far from the ski resort, about a 10-minute drive away. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money."
Hotel Route-Inn Myoko Arai ★★★
"The large public bath was a nice touch, and they even had umbrellas to lend when it rained, so they really thought of everything. Even though it was a smoking room, there wasn't much of a tobacco smell, and I had a comfortable stay. My only complaint would be the lack of restaurants within walking distance. Since it was a long weekend, I couldn't get into the nearby places, and had to walk for about 15 minutes in the rain to find somewhere."
Akakura Hotel ★★★
"Service attitude is very good But it was too old and noisy. The ventilation system kept making noises of parts falling off for more than 10 hours. So I chose a room with a bathroom and toilet. I wanted convenience, but I didn't expect that it would be inconvenient to take a bath. The bathtub was too small and there was bleach in the water. The smell, and the water in the bathtub is still completely wet even if there is a shower curtain blocking the floor. It is very uncomfortable. The wind power of the hair dryer is close to zero. It is recommended to bring your own hair dryer, otherwise it will really collapse. The hotel may be too old. I really don’t recommend it if you want to enjoy skiing. This hotel has been in a state of collapse. I stayed there for four nights and it was really uncomfortable. Then when the room was cleaned, the floor was not vacuumed. The room was really dirty and the slippers were rusty in it... In short, I will not come again! ! ! Really ruined a good ski trip"
LOTTE ARAI RESORT ★★★★★
"very convenient"
APA Hotel and Resort Joetsu Myoko ★★★
"The uphill climb to the hotel, which felt like a private road, was too long. I couldn't easily stop at a convenience store to buy anything extra because it's a secluded house deep in the mountains. There is a shop, but it's expensive. My room was on the 11th floor with a nice view and the window opened a little. It was old, but you could tell they put a lot of effort into the renovation. The bed and pillows were too soft, so I couldn't sleep on my back. The good points were the spacious sauna and the good selection at the buffet. The hot spring, which I was looking forward to the most, was tasteless and odorless, and it was a shame that golfers also came to wash off their sweat. I got a 50% discount with the Hokuriku discount, but I don't think I want to come back."
Lodge Amenouo ★★
Akakura Kanko Hotel ★★★★
"As many have noted in their reviews, the food here was absolutely delicious. I stayed in the main building, and honestly, the walk to the bathhouse in the colder months felt a bit inconvenient. However, aside from that, everything else was perfect."
Hitou Hanabun ★★★
"The quality and efficacy of the hot spring water is particularly noteworthy. The rooms are minimally equipped but kept clean. The starry sky that can be seen from the rooftop is indescribable. The wonderful natural environment and the quality of the hot spring water make me want to return."
Super Hotel Arai Niigata ★★★
"Excellent non-smoking room with no lingering odor, in a great location."

Akakura Wakui Hotel
"It's close to the slopes. The building is old, but it's well-maintained and not uncomfortable. The food was delicious, and the hospitality was the best! I'd like to go again."

"As suggested by Google Maps, it doesn’t matter if you get off the bus early and push up the mountain. However, it turns out that there are no people walking on the nearby road, so it is impossible to get there in the super-thick snow zone. Remember, if you take the bus, you have to get off at a snow resort. Hotel, if it is not so far up the mountain and the driving road is so far, I will die"
Hotel Senke
"All in all great experience. The rooms were nice and cozy Japanese styled, with lots of space for all your bags, clothes and what not. Miwa the manager and her family were all really sweet and super helpful! Super nice natural Onsen as well. Location is great; the hotel is on the Main Street in Akakura Onsen. Loads of different restaurants and bars right on the street + a convenient store. 5-10 minute walk to Akakura Onsen ski area. 15-20 minute walk to Kanko ski resort. And buses that take you to other ski resorts and the Myoko-Kogen station. Drying room for all your ski/snowboard gear. Great hotel✨"
Kaminomiya Onsen Kawaratei
"The hotel's location is remote, so it's best to drive. Many locals use the bathhouse and the accompanying hot spring facilities, so hygiene can be a bit lacking. This was also the first time I'd encountered a hotel with coin-operated lockers. Tea was provided after the hot springs, but all other amenities required payment. The hotel room was spacious, with a lovely view of snow-capped mountains and cherry blossoms. The bathroom had a separate bathtub, but it was a bit inconvenient to use."

Hotel Taiko, Akakura Onsen
"The hotel has Onsen, a very good facility. The hotel is very close to the Akakura Onsen Ski Area and within walking distance, only 8 minutes walk"
Hotel Alpen Blick
"Dinner buffet aims to be full, so don’t have high expectations. The location is not good, so you can travel by car. There are no shops nearby, and it’s hard to find the way in heavy snow. The worst thing is that the network is very poor, 4G is only 1 bar, and it is difficult to access the Internet. The WIFI is also very weak and often disconnected. You can feel the natural air wholeheartedly. The hot springs are very hygienic and the bath products used are also very good. There is a ski equipment store next to it. If you don't have any equipment, you can rent it. There is a ski resort next to it, which is also very convenient. "
