This hotel was recommended to us by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Centrally located (you can literally walk to the Akakura onsen ski area in 5 mins), the rooms are spacious by Japanese standards and comfortable with a lovely view of the Akakura onsen area. It is family owned and service is great - filling breakfast served with a smile and we were picked up and dropped off to Myoko Kogen station which was very handy. They even gave us some complimentary warm cans of tea/coffee when we left. The onsen was lovely after a day of skiing (it is public and gender separated but in the steam you don't see much lol) Their lift passes were cheaper than RRP. The hotel is a bit dated but great value compared to nearby places.

Great location and only a short walk to the ski area , bus station and local restaurants. Very basic but lovely staff and breakfast is a treat every morning

I was confused because there was no front desk on the floor I entered, but it was on the third floor. It was too hot for me, but the hot springs were fed directly from the source. According to a book about Akakura Onsen that was kept there, the inn had been in the same location since the spa first opened. It's at the end of the main street. It was delicious home-cooked food.
