Homewood Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

This was my little guys first spring break and first vacation and that’s to all the amenities offered at this hotel I’m the BEST MOMMY EVER! The pool area was everything and more! The game room was a nice time to waste time and have fun while it was raining. The views from the lobby during breakfast was beautiful and well as the balcony view from our room on the 19th floor and impeccable! Over all 10/10 . The only hiccup to mention was the Wi-Fi not working so well.

Overall, it was a good stay and would come back, but the tv's were freaking out and not working properly. Also, the shower kept having water leaking during showers and had to keep using all the towels to keep the bathroom dry. Restaurant had amazing food though! The Philly cheesesteak loaded fries were my husband and I favorite! Thankful for the people who were there serving us and working hard. Hopefully those couple things could just be fixed a bit. Other than that this is an amazing hotel!

Very unfriendly and rude night shift worker @ the front desk. Customer service is definitely lacking at this hotel. Unfortunately, we are disappointed with our stay.

The property is in great condition, the room comfortable, the staff all very nice. Breakfast was very good. I was disappointed that they only have valet parking (extra $25). It’s ridiculous to charge a “resort fee”, particularly in February. There are many nice looking hotels in that area. I’ll shop around if I’m back.

When we booked our 4 day/5 night stay at Homewood Suites committing “2 hours” on Sunday to hear the Holiday Inn Club Resort pitch to purchase a point based time-share, we expected no more than a simple hotel room. We were surprised to find a small kitchenette with an electric stove top, a full size refrigerator with freezer, a microwave, large king sized bed, couch, 2 TV’s. Very nice! When our bed TV appeared non-functional, hotel staff (Sanjay) swapped it out for a different TV and set us up with MSNBC. No NetFlix however. The first night I thought the AC unit sounded like a train every time it cycled on, however, it was the ice make in the freezer that was train-like. Simply turning the ice maker off next morning resolved that disturbing noise. My spouse observed tiny cockroaches running across the bathroom white tiles (so easy to spot). The room carpet was a dark blue, so NOT easy to spot. We placed a call to the desk and came Sanjay to the rescue. A very pleasant guy. His bug spray seems to have resolved that problem. So clearly the hotel is responsive to residents’ concerns. All parking is valet at $25/day. Parking is in a secure building one street away. Street parking lots are available I am told for $15/day but not monitored by hotel security. Breakfast is included_a nice assortment of scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, breads, cereals, fruits, muffins. Breakfast closes at 9:30 AM which seems a little early for me who might like to sleep a little later on vacation. Coffee is available 24/7. There also is some restaurant service which we didn’t use. I notice that there is a Starbucks in the adjacent hotel which I have not yet used. My only negative is that when you pull in the hotel drive entrance to unload and turn over the car to the valet, there is no offer of a bellhop to dolly your luggage to check in nor from check in to one’s room. The dollies are available on the street level, but you fetch it yourself and return it as well. Check in was easy and efficient. A surprising touch was a text from front desk personnel the next day inquiring how things were going so far. A real person, not AI! I am sitting on our balcony at dusk typing this review listening to the surf and watching the tide come in. Distant rain showers are passing far off the coast line. Tomorrow supposed to be a beautiful day!

Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by the attentive staff, making the check-in process quick and effortless. The digital key provided was functional, although it did not work on the elevator, which was a minor inconvenience. The room’s bed and furniture offered comfort, and I highly recommend opting for a room with a kitchen—it truly enhances the stay. However, do note that if you’re planning to cook, you may need to bring your own knives, pots, and pans. Breakfast at the hotel was satisfactory, with some days presenting a better spread than others. On the downside, I noticed that most doors in the hallway bore multiple scuff marks, indicating a need for better maintenance. Additionally, the pre-booking website only mentioned a self-parking fee, with no clear indication that this option is not available, nor was there any mention of valet parking until arrival. This lack of clarity could be improved for future guests. For those concerned about their vehicle, I would only recommend off-site parking for cars that are not of significant concern to you. Also, while the bathroom faucet was loose, it remained operable throughout my stay. In summary, while the hotel shines in staff responsiveness and room comfort, attention to detail in maintenance and clearer communication regarding parking facilities would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
