Ocean Waves Hotel

They didn't give us any washcloths or a floor towel. I had 2 use 1 of the 3 towels provided for the floor. At checkout they kept my deposit claiming the towel was stained. I don't have much money. They just took our money for a stained towel. Who is wrong!

Not only was it absolutely disgusting in the lobby and around the property, but the owner is a very dishonest person who is only out to make a buck, even if it hurts honest and hard working customers. Who gives a “cash” security deposit back when paying with a card? That’s because no one gets their deposits back. Read the online reviews. Person after person and person complains of this. Another way to make a quick buck off travelers. Half the people there look like they’ve actually been living there. Very shady people. And who sells HOOKAHS in their motel lobby??? Next to an open box of tampons!?! So cheap and trashy. Dead flowers, weeds everywhere, a dirty and nasty lobby with the most horrific smell. I forfeited $223 just so my family didn’t have to sleep there. My booking site told me they would allow a refund but this place double dipped and refused. I never even took the key. Voicemail box is full and never answers calls. Front desk worker is a liar as well. I will be disputing these charges with my credit card company. Absolutely unreal.

Me, my boyfriend and stepson went down to the beach kind of last minute and the place we were originally going to stay at ended up not having the room we booked and it was already too late to travel all up and down Myrtle Beach trying to find a decent room for a okay price. We found this place on another booking site/app and they were offering a app only mobile deal for fairly cheap and so we booked it and would arrive within a hour. So when we got there it was a little after 10pm and time we were pulling up we were instantly regretting it. The place itself wasn't in the ghetto/hood area but this place was its own ghetto on it's own. There was what looked like drug dealers and doers all out of their rooms and just hanging out and watching us as we pulled up. I sent my boyfriend to the front desk so we could go head and get our room and get locked in there for the night. I was really hoping for a room on the first floor since I am almost 8 months pregnant but we ended up getting a room on the 2nd floor which luckily it was right off the stairs so I didn't have to waddle too far to get to the room. I was having issues with my tablet and my stepsons tablet to connect to the WiFi but luckily the owners or something were replacing the microwave in the room next to ours so I was able to get help with connecting so at least the4 year old didn't have much of a meltdown when we got him connected. Inside our room there were 2 big plush full size beds, sheets were clean, one of the flat sheets did however have a tiny burn hole in it but it wasn't no reason to get mad, our little mini fridge though did have a little bit of difficulty closing and staying closed but we found out that if you hit it a certain way it'd stay shut. Air conditioner worked amazingly!! Like I said I'm super preggo right now so my thermostat is broken anyways lol but the boyfriend and stepson went to bed shivering. And they even accommodated us and let us get a noon checkout!! Idk if it was bc of the time we checked in or what but it really wasn't too awful bad for the price we got the room for. So I'm really not trying to be super critical of the place. All I will say is that you get what you pay for... So I do wish my last time at the beach before I have this baby was a little more fun and enjoyable but I did get to wake up across the street from the Ocean!!!
