We rented an AirBnb here for 5 days in April of 2024. The apartments are all individually owned so they can change from room to room, so this review is only on the facilities as a whole and not our specific AirBnb. The Good You are very close to the ocean, a short walk from any of the buildings. The beach is very nice. There are showers on the bridge that connects the resort to the beach to rinse off sand. There are many options for swimming/water fun on the grounds. Multiple indoor and outdoor pools are available throughout the property. All of the pools were well maintained and clean. Parking is ample and finding a spot in front of your building should be easy. The Not-So-Good The entire resort is dated, and by dated I mean whatever was there when they built it is what you're getting now by and large. I don't know when it was built but my guess is the latest would be the early 1990s, and likely before that. The playground was very minimal and not kept up at all, and what was there was broken in some cases. The pool area bathrooms were dingy and in need of painting, with showers out of service in some and many broken fixtures, broken and cracked tile, exposed plumbing, etc... Just things that made it look not well maintained. There's not a whole lot that's within walking distance to the grounds (unless you're ready for a bit of a hike). Parking is not free. There are what seem to be a dozen (at least) stray cats that live under the buildings. Not the biggest deal since they're cute, but it kind of lends itself to this overall feeling that you're in more of a trailer park than a beach resort. And actually, comparing this place to a "nice trailer park" is a pretty good analogy overall. The Bad The apartment building hallways are, and I can't stress this enough, extremely dark. There are zero windows in any of the interior hallways, and only small overhead lights every 15 feet or so. The lighting along with the very odd shape of the hallways themselves (this sort of zig-zag design) along with the bland white and navy blue paint just made it look more like a legit Russian prison than a hotel or resort. Also, the bedrooms in the apartments have windows that face the hallway..... why? Why would you ever need a window in a bedroom so you can look out into a bleak depressing hallway? Very very odd overall building design with this place. The hallways and elevators also have an unpleasant smell, mainly due to them being dark and cramped with old carpet. As other reviews have mentioned, the nightly karaoke at the Quarter Deck (tiki bar down behind the tower) is SUPER loud. We would try and sit outside on the patio at night and all you can hear is the booming music and singing. It's really a shame that they don't limit that to 1-2 nights a week. My guess is they make decent money off of it and that's more important to them. The bell carts are super dingy and old. They have also the very classy addition of dirty old shopping carts available for g

Spent 4 months to get away from the winter snow. Fabulous sunrises and right on the beach. Pools, lazy river, beach walking.

The gate security was extremely rude. Would not help. I had a very small 4x6 trailer with all my luggage. They refused to let me in after driving 13hrs and wouldn’t let me even drop the luggage off because I had a trailer. I asked to see if there were waivers or who to talk to and they said I have to ask barb. When I asked for barbs info they refused and told me to leave after already paying for a weeks stay. Beyond unprofessional and I’m disgusted at the behavior and attitude of the security gate

Kimberly @ check-in is 10/10. She provided so much information and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was one of a kind. The only thing that I didn’t care to much for was the upkeep and maintenance.. the property really could use some attention

There is now a $20 gate fee per vehicle? You have to pay to access your hotel now. Been going here every year for 12 years now. We won't be going back. Charleston and Myrtle Beach in general are starting to be more expensive than anywhere we vacation in the North.

The best part was the huge ocean front balcony. We watched the sunrise every day while we had our coffee and even saw a dolphin swim by. There was an extra large chaise lounge on the balcony, big enough for two people to cuddle up. The place was clean and had a beautiful, beachy decor (unit 902). It was really nice that there were two bathrooms and a washer dryer. The kitchen had everything we needed. The resort had an indoor – outdoor heated pool, hot tub and dry sauna. They have a restaurant on site, but it was closed for the off season. I really loved it there and can’t wait to go back.

This resort was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. We stayed 7 days and 6 nights and the food was also fresh no matter what time of the day we ordered. I would recommend this to any family looking for a nice getaway.

On my first day and upon opening the door to enter, there was a horrible smell, a smell I cannot describe. I also noticed that my bed linens felt gritty. I also had 2 large roach bugs in my room. I notified the front desk the following morning due to arriving later in the evening. Maintenance was knocking on another door near me shortly after I had reported my complaints. I asked if he could step in and check the smell. He agreed that there was a horrible smell. He took my room spray and sprayed the vent stating that it is better. He also stated he would let the front desk know as well. After my second night there, I awoke in the morning with the room temp being 80 degrees. This of course was reported. The person who took my call stated that 4 other tenants in my area had the same complaint and that repairs would be made in order received which I felt was fair. I stayed away all day and when I returned the AC was working. My final morning there was no better. I had no hot water for my shower. I did not enjoy my stay here at all. The double doors that lead to the deck are very dangerous. The metal trim at the base of the doors is way too tall, probably at least 6” tall at the floor. One could very easily trip and fall onto the concrete or floor in condo. The TV set up was a challenge. Too many remotes and boxes. I am happy to report that the bed was comfortable but much too high for a shorter person like myself. I will not be returning. Management, you must do better
