I thought check-in was at 3pm, but when I arrived at the hotel it was actually 4pm 😞 I was able to check in at 3pm if I paid 1500 yen to become a member, so I reluctantly became a member and was able to check in at 3pm.
The hotel amenities were next to the front desk and were the type that you had to take yourself. There was no explanation, so I went to the room and didn't have pajamas, so I called the front desk and they told me they were next to the front desk.
The room was spacious and comfortable.
I took a shower at night and put on my pajamas, but they smelled sour and it was very unpleasant, so I slept in my own clothes.
There was a bento box at the buffet in the morning, so I was able to put it in a container and eat it in the room, which was nice.

Toyoko Inn is my favorite budget hotel chain in Japan. I stay at their hotels several times a month. That being said, I cannot recommend the Toyoko Inn Sakae hotel. It’s a nice hotel, but the club next door is extremely loud. They are open from 9 pm till 5 am!! The sidewalk in front of the hotel is crowded with groups of club goers. The first time I stayed here I couldn’t sleep. I gave the hotel another chance a few months later and stayed there again. But like the last time, I could hear the club music, even to the point where my walls were vibrating. If you want to get a good sleep, and unless the hotel builds a soundproof wall, DO NOT stay at the Toyoko Inn Sakae. It’s unfortunate because I really do like their other hotels.
