Spurwing guest house is more than a guesthouse, situated in Karen Nairobi it has a superb location for both business and family travel. I stay here frequently as I pass through Nairobi and Susan and her team always make me feel at home and very comfortable. Located next to some European standard shopping malls, cultural experiences with the Elephant orphanage and Giraffe centre and a must do the Nairobi Nation Park for a great day out viewing wildlife. Also by taxi a short drive to Wilson airport for local flights and Jomo Kenyatta International for overseas travel. The gardens around the guesthouse are very green and quiet, I can highly recommend Spruwing.

When visiting Nairobi and the surrounding area, Spurwing Guest House is the only place I would consider staying. I travel to Kenya twice a year on business and for pleasure (29+ trips), sometimes bringing groups with me. Spurwing is my #1 destination when needing lodging near Nairobi. In fact, Karen, Kenya could be a destination in its own right. There is so much to see- Karen Blixen's Homestead, Kazuri Beads, the Giraffe Center, Sheldrick Animal Sanctuary- just to mention a few spots. Susan Maina is the perfect host, leaving no traveler's needs unaddressed. Her staff is delightful and professional. Breakfast is included in your stay and custom made for your tastes and pleasure. The rooms are lovely, appointed with Kenyan artwork. Common spaces are inviting, as well. Final plusses... the grounds are glorious and there are two friendly dogs, Amani and Rafiki, that greet weary travelers. Prices are very reasonable for the service and amenities provided. A true hidden gem! Highly recommended for business and trips with family and friends.

Spurwing guesthouse provided very friendly service, really good food, comfortable beds and nice rooms. I can wholeheartedly recommend it for either business or leisure travellers. It is also conveniently located near to the hub shopping centre, in easy walking distance,

The experience at Spurwing deserves a 5 out of 5 rating. From the moment we arrived until our departure the service and hospitality from Susan and her team were excellent. Everyone treated us with warmth and respect and went out of their way to make us feel at home and comfortable. A special mention to Boniface and Elijah for looking after us. And a special thanks to Susan for being in touch with the needs of her guests. We were treated like family. Breakfast is great, a variety of hot and cold food to choose from. The room and bed were comfortable and sparkling clean. In cold weather you can expect a hot water bottle at night! During cold days and evening we were provided with a blazing fire, outside and indoors. The venue is in a good location for shopping, markets and nature trips. We recommend Spurwing and would love to return.
