After changing the room, the room is particularly spacious, bright, comfortable and warm. The room faces the river, and the sound of gurgling water can relieve stress. We had a wonderful stay! We especially liked the location - walking distance to small downtown Shima, yet far enough to have less tourists walking around. The hot springs were great, food was delicious (especially if you want to try authentic local Gunma prefecture cuisine - might not be best for children), and the nightly traditional paper story telling was also great. We took a train + bus ride from Tokyo and the local bus (40min ride) from Nakanojyo station stops right in front of the hotel. We will come back again for sure!

The quality of the hot spring is gentle on the body, makes the skin smooth, and there is even a corner where you can drink the hot water. The open-air bath is on a rotation system, so you can enjoy it. Dinner and breakfast were also satisfactory, and since check-out is at 11:00, I was able to enjoy a leisurely walk.
