Nashville Broadway
The Conrad Hotel is in Midtown, on a street which becomes Broadway. It is about a 20 minute walk straight down that street to Downtown, so convenient for anyone who wants to enjoy the nightlife of the area without the bother of driving or taxis. It is newly built, and the rooms are well designed, with lots of cupboard space and a modern bathroom. My room had an L=shaped chaise longue fr relaxing, and a well-lit desk for working. Both at the desk and by the bed, there were ample power sockets and effective free WiFi. Flight cancellations and re-routing meant that I arrived at about 11pm, only to discover that no food was available even on room service, as the kitchen closed at 10.30. Being rather frazzled after a trying day’s travelling, I made something of a fuss. This attracted the attention of the night manager, who sent out for takeaway food for me from a local restaurant, and would not accept payment, either for my food or for the drink that I had with it at the bar when it arrived. When I checked in, I was told that the concierge would be on duty at 10 the following day (Sunday). When I duly turned up at 10 am, wanting to arrange a private city, I learned that the concierge was “taking a couple of days off”. However, again, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. One of the people on the front desk took over, arranged my tour for me, and give me good recommendations for sights to see. Even the door men were friendly and genuinely helpful. So, 5 stars for the amenities and the excellent staff. But why does such a great hotel catering for international travellers shut its kitchens at 10.30: and why does it only have one concierge? That means only 4 stars overall.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville Vanderbilt

West End
I stayed here for two nights while my wife was patient at Vanderbilt Hospital. I chose it because it was not far and reasonably priced. While the hotel is in an older (1921) building, the inside would lend itself to being a modern building. The room are spacious and appliances are new and such. I have one complaint and one gripe. My complaint is that there are no safes in the room. The front desk did not advise if there was an alternative. My gripe is we asked the valet to have the vehicle up top as we had to depart for the hospital at 0500. This was not done. Most likely the valet forgot, but we brought it up with both front desk and valet. This was a minor hiccup. It will not deter me from staying here again. On another note, the traffic noise is minimal and easy to fall asleep despite its location.

Green Hills
Disappointed with check in process at Courtyard Nashville Green Hills for several reasons: (1) room key did not work and had to return to front desk TWO times; (2) no recognition of being a titanium elite member; and (3) no welcome gift (ie., points or food & beverage credit) offered. Room was just average, somewhat dark, and there was no lamp behind chair to read. Will be staying at Residence Inn Nashville Green Hills (which is next door to this Courtyard hotel) on Friday night and hope to have a better experience.

Beautiful resort. Wonderful staff and amazing Christmas activities. Our one conplaint is the cost. With the expense of the room they need to be more cost effective in other areas to help families out especially during these times. 45 per day for parking is extreme and the food prices were priced 45 percent higher then most other food in the area. Other then that amazing time with my wife.

Element Nashville Airport

This week, my daughter and I traveled to Tennessee for her college campus tour in Knoxville. We were trying to get back to California and unfortunately we were caught in the back-to-back storms that hit the southern states, including much of Tennessee. We arrived in Nashville very shaken by the storm and saddened that our flight scheduled for the following day was cancelled. Upon our arrival at The Element, we were greeted by Tonya, the general manager. That's when everything changed for the better!!!! Never, ever have I felt so welcomed in a hotel before. Tonya took AMAZING care of my daughter and I while we were stuck in Nashville. With no vehicle, no access to the restaurants (most of which were closed due to the storm), and all food delivery services out of commission,Tonya invited us to a Chinese dinner the first night. The following evening she arranged for food to be picked up and delivered to us at the hotel. She went above and beyond any customer service I have ever received. She even offered to cook dinner for us if we had to stay an additional evening. We were fortunate enough to fly out on that third day and she even checked up on us to make sure we arrived to our destination safely by text messaging us. Tonya is the epitome of southern hospitality!!!!
