Our stay at Goldwyn Resort was mixed. On the positive side, most of the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. However, there were several areas where the resort did not meet our expectations: We stayed in a room with a kitchenette, which was convenient given the high food prices. Unfortunately, the cleanliness fell short of what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. Despite repeated requests, the floors remained dirty (our white slippers turned black underneath), and the toilet was not cleaned for days. The sofa bed where our two kids slept was uncomfortable, with noticeable springs—a significant issue for our 11-night stay. Additionally, late one evening around 9:30 PM, we received a call from the call center asking if our room had been cleaned and offering to replace the sofa bed with rollaway beds. Since the kids were asleep, I requested they handle it the next day, but we never heard back. There was also an issue with my son’s Ray-Ban sunglasses, which were left by the pool. When we asked at reception the next day, they hadn’t been handed in, but we later found a pool attendant wearing them. Fortunately, he returned them when we asked. We were also misled by a "free breakfast" offer that turned into a long 3 hr, uncomfortable sales pitch for their luxury vacation club. What was supposed to be a 60-minute presentation stretched out, with the salesperson becoming borderline rude when we declined to spend $5k-$50k. Additionally, we were disturbed by redecorating work in the room next to ours, including what sounded like vacuuming and drilling, during the last days of our stay. Special Mentions: - Italia – a lovely lady at reception - Koreo – fantastic with my kids; they miss your fist bumps! - David- at the excursions desk – extremely helpful and knowledgeable. In summary, while the resort is beautiful, it lacks the staff training needed to deliver a truly outstanding experience.
