Not only does Steve run a great guesthouse/B&B, he is also very knowledgeable on all things Jamaica - especially Negril/MoBay. Because I had previous arrangements at another location but had to move out sooner than I expected, Steve was great in offering me help in where to go(and a ride), how to save money, and most of all how not to lose money. Negril can be a very aggressive town when confronting those who are soliciting for money(whether for food, vice, or even other cabs); and for a first time outsider it can be a daunting and confusing task just trying to get to the nearest store on the *****. Steve eased my mind and assured me that it wasn't as bad as I thought as long as I knew how to shake off the pushy sales-pitch and to walk with limited money on me. Being from a larger but less aggressive city I appreciated his advice and heeded is advice to where I was comfortable to travel around on my own. When my time at my other place was drawing to an end, I wanted to extend it a couple days. Steve gave me a tour of his amazing self built/contracted house with a $$$MILLION$$$ view of the Caribbean Sea from his upper level veranda. He offered me a very fair and affordable option of staying at Jah Freedom Guesthouse which would have saved me even more money; but since I was already established at my location I felt that didn't want to pack up and then unpack again for just two days...but that still would have saved me nearly $200 just over two days. Aside from the great food(from street vendors to restaurants), numerous LIVE attractions, information on all of the wonderful all-inclusive and open resorts, numerous activities, MUST-SEE spots of Negril, and knowing the locations of all of the banking institutions; I asked Steve if it was possible to work out a deal to just have him and his advice "on-call" for the remainder of my stay in Negril. In true Negril fashion he said "No Problem" and I spent my final days there confidently knowing that I had access to Negril's greatest resource: Steve "Jah Freedom" Weinstein. Needless to say, even at the last minute, I had asked him if it was possible to get an airport shuttle back to Montego Bay as I was due to fly out in the coming days. Once again, it was "No Problem". In the future, as I plan on returning to Negril, Steve “Jah Fredom” Weinstein will be my connection for me and any of my friends and family. Thank you Steve/"Jah Freedom".
