This is a wonderful hotel;- Efficient staff Rooms cleaned to perfection Friendly staff in all areas Food exceptional - tables well spaced out in restaurant Entertainment well chosen Beautiful gardens and pool area Only thing was it rained for 3 days and we were “stuck” to do anything in the hotel. No board games, no emergency quiz ready, no rep, and I didn’t think I would want to watch tv but out of 174 cable channels 2 news channels were in English talking about the wars. I would definitely recommend this RIU hotel.

Lovely hotel in a great location, opposite the beach and short walk to Nerja town. Room lovely and clean & Surprisingly more drawers than normal! Grounds spotless and staff friendly. The only negative, I think there should be more sun-beds, saw a few people looking around for spare beds, during the day, which there were none. Would visit again 😎

RIU Monica is een fantastisch hotel waar helemaal nets op te merken valt. Zeer netjes n vriendelijk personeel op alle niveaus lekkere buffetten ,aangename inrichting van de gemeenschappelijke ruimten. Als kers op de taart kregen we een upgrade naar een junior suite wat de kamer betrof en dit was fantastisch ! Ongelofelijk genoten van alles in dit hotel !

Returned to Nerja for another stay at the good old Riu Monica. Luckily we had lovely friends staying at the same time. Sadly Roberto the excellent assistant manager has left to go to the Riu Hotel in Senegal but Victor his replacement is equally as good. Our room maid Delia deserves a special mention as does Eva the cleaning supervisor. What an asset to the hotel these superb ladies are. In fact the hotel is so lucky to have great staff in all departments. Unfortunately on the downside are the brown scratchy exfoliating towels in the bathroom which really have seen better days and need urgent replacement. We used the sunbed towels instead which can be easily changed at reception.

We love this hotel .. we like the location just out of town but near enough for a slow walk over. Staff are wonderful and friendly and can’t do enough for you, The food is good with plenty of choice for everyone. It’s an older clientele here and entertainment was fine altho not always our cup of tea. The rooms are nice and spacious altho for a Platinum hotel the bathroom towels could do with a refresh, they’re a bit thin and worn. Nice pool area
