Stayed for one week. Sea view room with balcony - a must! Fantastic breakfast - nothing is too much trouble for the staff. You ask for it and they will most probably be able to make it. Beach club area is fantastic - seaside beds with access to sea as well as two infinity pools. We did not use the spa facilities. Shout out to Francesco one of the porters, he was so helpful - not just with our luggage but with restaurant recommendations as well as local things to do. And always with a lovely smile and cheery hello. Twice daily room service. Huge comfy bed. What’s not to like about this place. We would return.

I’ve been staying in 5 star hotels since I first checked in to the Crillon in Paris in 1970 and the Meliá in Genoa is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. Elegant decor, very comfortable and above all smiling and very efficient service. A particular thanks to Francesca, who went over and beyond a guest relations manager’s duty to organise perfect accommodation.

If going to Genoa, this is a great place to be as it is directly outside the Brignole train station. Easy to get around as the metro is Free to use from 1000-1600 and 2000-2200. Do be aware this is not the Principal train station. Great restaurants all around. Short walk to MOG market . Best bed we had in Italy. Most were VERY frim, here the bed was soft and welcoming. Lots of pillows. Only down side was shower drain was slow and we flooded the bathroom the last day. They had this weird painted shower liner that was cracked but really didn't affect things other than how it looked. The breakfast was available and they had a lot of American style buffet as well as a mix of typical Italian breakfast. Great cappuccino. Also cute cafe right outside main door. ＜ 7 euros for 2 cappuccinos and 3 pastries.

The outside of the building is a ”fine example” of 1980's architecture, i.e. grim! Our room was on the first floor, level with some ”feature” triangles in the roof, which served no purpose at all other than to spoil the view of the harbour! Upon entering reception the feel is very opulent. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming...but we were checking in around 10pm (that being the time our flight had landed). We were rather hoping for some food, but the kirchen closed at 10pm, so all we were offered was a ”Cheese Toastie” (which, although very welcoming, did rather strike me that the Hotel was not ”in tune” with flight times and the potential for guests to be checking in and not wanting to have to find a restaurant outside the hotel at that time of the night! The room was large, but had the air of a Hotel Room which had seen nearly 40 years of good servbice, wtihout a great deal of care and attention taken to its upkeep. For example, the built-in wardrobe/cupboard door did not open properly, there was a large scratch on the ”feature” wood panelling around the room and the tile grouting in the shower was black with mould in places. BUT...on the plus side, the air-conditioning worked...and was not too noisey, the room was big enough for the two of us. The bed was large (albeit a big ”squishy” for my liking and there was a kettle/coffee pod machine so we could make our own drinks. We were there for 5 nights, so it is important - in my book - that if you're payng those kind of prices that the room is perfect...It wasn't really perfect. Similarly, because of its location right next door to the Aquarium, there were a large number of small children there, obviously from rich families who were not massively adept at controlling them. We never ate uin the restaurant in the evening, but did take our drinks onto the terrace one evening, where lots of diners had booked a table outside. A famly with three children under 5 then arrived and they continued to scream, run about the place and generally make a relaxzing space very VERY stressful. We took our drinks inside and I happened to comment in my best(?) Italian that the children were beng too noisey...some minutes later the family came inside...and I thought we were going to ahve to move again, but they went out of the hotel altogether! Unfortunately, we were not able to move so quickly the next morning at breakfast, where there was the same family creating havoc in the breakfast area! Next time we will ahve to fnd a hotel which is ”Adults Only”...Being a father of two (now grown-up) children, we were constantly on alert so that our kids didn'6t cause disruption to anyone else around us...That - however - doesn't seem to be the ”European way”! Location-wise was amazing, right on the harbour quaryside. The double-glazing did an amazing job of blanking out the ”city noise” from the elevated road and the late-night revellers in the myriad of cafes and bars on the old har

This hotel lies north of Genoa city. Approximately 15-20 minutes of a boredom drive through the gutters of the city. A nice surprise when you see the hotel coming up uphill. Nice and convenient parking behind the hotel. The staff is very very friendly. Check-in' went quick. Elevators are slow. Wi-Fi is adequate. Room coverage is ok. The room itself is clean, basic+ and small-medium sized. Bed is ok, but I think the matrasses could be replaced. There is a modern and spacious gym in the hotel with great Technogym equipment. The breakfast is good to perfect and the staff serving and maintaining it is the best I had since a long time. I had a wonderful (business) stay at this hotel and will return. The even have electric car chargers, which is a plus!

A big hotel with clean rooms! There are many halls nearby! The hotel waiters are enthusiastic about helping travelers. Most importantly, it is close to the station, and it is especially convenient to travel to and from Milan! I have lived three times and love it every time!

We stayed at Capriccio Art hotel for two nights as part of our shopping trip to Milan outlets without much thought as it was very near to the outlets . BUT what a pleasant stay it was . The hotel is very aesthetically done up with pieces of art from different artists .. Teh room was big ( a big luxury in Europe ) and the washroom modern and big too . The hygiene levels were top standards . The staff was exceptionally polite and trained very well . The Highlight of the trip and the hotel was the food .. it was such flavourful authentic Italian food that we ended up having dinner at the hotel on all days of our stay . The coffee they served was awesome too .. three cheers for the chef at Capriccio Art . The best was they were able to make vegan dishes for me as I am lactose intolerant..will definitely plan a stay again and highly recommend to anyone going to serravalle ..

We chose this hotel based on the central location and cost (we used our credit card points). I was worried after reading some of the negative reviews, however, the hotel ended up being perfect for our stay in SML. At the same time, I do understand the reviews from people who did not like their rooms. I'll try to explain below. Location/building: - The hotel is located on the same street as the train station, just a 10 min walk down the road. Very easy to access with rolling bags and we didn't need a taxi. - It's not located on the water nor does it have any majestic views of anything. Consider it a ”city center” hotel, in a small, quaint, beautiful Italian town. - From the main street (Via Roma), you walk through a huge patio into the main building that has the lobby, restaurant and some rooms. - Our room was located in a 2nd, separate building which you access from a side street. It is behind the main building, further away from Via Roma. This building has the spa and pool, but I believe shares upper floors with a residential building. From the ”street” level, we entered a small lobby, and went down 1 floor to our room on the ”basement” level. - Our room had a terrace that looked ”up” at the street level/patio of the building. No view to speak of but some natural light. - Location: We walked everywhere and skipped the 30 EUR breakfast each morning which allowed us to try different cafes and bakeries that are located a VERY short distance away including Pinamonti Focacceria, Panificio Dama, Pasticceria Pestarino, Caffé del Borgo, and Caravaggio Café. We spent most of our time exploring and really only used our room to shower/sleep. We took the train to Cinque Terre one day and accessing the train was so easy. We walked 1 hr to Portofino on a beautiful day and then took the public bus back - very easy and cheap! The walk going over is mainly along the side of the road, beach and includes a path up into the hills - lots of beauty! - Room: The room was pretty large, modern and clean. Everything worked as expected and the bathroom was actually wonderful. Our terrace had no view, but we weren't expecting one. They have a motorized shutter that you can close which created complete darkness at night - it was fantastic! We were in a basement room, but at the end of the day it didn't matter. We had no noise issues. - Service: The employees were wonderful and helpful. Couldn't have been better!
