As has been mentioned in other reviews I found that there wasn't anything on the menu that I fancied. The meal that I did have was not very good at all, this was my second visit and thought I would give it another chance, but was disappointed again. I also found the lighting very dim which gave it a depressing feel.

My partner and I wanted to take her uncle out for a meal and decided upon the High Corner Inn. We have previously had excellent food and and a pleasant time there on many occasions. We arrived, were seated and presented with menu's. Nothing on the menu sounded particularly appealing, no pub classics and everything seemed very pricey. Feeling a little disappointed with the choice on offer we all opted for a burger and chips. (How can you go wrong with a burger?) The price of the burger was £19! Very pricey but expected a very good meal for that price. The burger arrived and was immediately disappointing, it was small with very little filling and served with a handful of fries. No coleslaw, no salad. The presentation was poor. On taking a couple of bites it was obvious that this was far from a premium burger. It was dry, tasteless and our companion found gristle in his first bite. We called the waiter and my partners uncle explained the issue and asked for something else from the menu. The waiter and the chef were then loudly voicing from the kitchen that my partner's uncle was 'just fussy' and there was nothing wrong with it. This conversation was repeated again just to make doubly sure that we were able to hear what they were saying. I'm afraid we left our meal (which we had barely touched) and walked out. We will never return to The High Corner Inn again. I'm sure that no-one would wish to pay £19 for a poor quality, dry burger and a handful of fries, let alone be audibly insulted by the staff. Very poor indeed. Choose any other pub in the New Forest but this one.

The aesthetics of the place and the menu promises a lot, but the standard of the food is pretty poor. Very standard pub food, for expensive prices. Service is chaotic. I live 30mins away from this place. I wont be coming back, which is a shame.

Gorgeous weekend in the New Forest at the High Corner Inn. We had our meals at the pub and went for a great walk around the surrounding area. Definitely recommend, just don’t go expecting the wifi to work!

Probably the worst experience in an eating establishment! A while later the server asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for a glass of prosecco and was asked which one. Then I was told they were in the blue folder. I found the page and was told I needed the ones with two prices next to them of which there was one.  The server either didn't realise the error or wasn't concerned. We ordered and waited an hour or so and no food arrived. The place was not busy. I asked the server when we could expect our good. She didn't check with the kitchen but said 'you're next'. A male server then asked if he could get us a menu. I explained we had been waiting nearly an hour for our food to be delivered. He looked embarrassed apologised and walked away. No offer of assistance. A few minutes later our server walk past our table and into the garden with someone's food order. A few minutes later another person took food out to the garden. When the server came back I told her to cancel the order. A male came out - he didn't explain who he was or why he had come out. I said I was cancelling the order and wanted to pay for the drinks. He said the food would only be a few minutes. I said I'd already been told that and I wasn't interested. I observed that in any descent restaurant the customer is advised if there is going to be a lengthy delay. This never happened. As I was paying for my drinks the server put 2 plates of food on a table and walked  away. She had delivered the food to the wrong table and the person sat there had to sort it out  I paid for my drinks and the Male said, in what felt a sarcastic manner 'sorry our communication wasn't what you wanted.' I pointed out there was NO communication. As I left he said, in what I felt to be a sarcastic, passive aggressive manner 'have a nice rest of your day.' Is this really how you expect or sanction staff behaving? Do you set customer service levels?  Based on the other reviews here the answer is yes. I did ask if there had been a change of management and was told yes. I assume this explains it as on a number of previous visits the service has been excellent and staff efficient and polite. Not now.

Overall we had a lovely stay, Charlotte who greeted us and generally looked after was very friendly and helpful, our room was very clean, tidy and warm, we found the dinner menus had a good selection to choose from, beer and wine was the normal price you have to pay when eating out. The one problem we did have was at breakfast time the chef didn’t turn up this left Charlotte on her own which out help, she apologised to everyone and did her best to get cover this was found after 1/2hr and the food prepared and severed unfortunately this was cold and not to nice, we did tell Charlotte who was very apologetic. We left soon after.

£24.95p for two pints of Peroni and a glass of wine!!! Unbelievably high pricing is such a shame as a great pub aesthetically. The other off-putting element was what I assume was the manager (female with curly dark hair and a South African or similar accent) having a go at the younger bar staff in front of customers which made everyone feel awkward. I don;t think I would eat here based on the other reviews and complaints about pricing of drinks etc.
