We stayed here for 2 nights, mostly due to location. We were getting the ferry to the Hamptons in the morning, and this was a 5-minute drive from the Ferry port! Reviews were hit & miss, but as I was only going to be there to sleep & not spend a long time in the room, I figured it worth booking here for the cheaper price over the next-door Clarion Inn. We checked in and was allocated a room on the second floor. The main thing I’d comment on is that we booked a non-smoking room, and it had a definite smell of lingering smoke. It was quite over-powering, but we didn’t bother to complain nor ask to be moved so that’s on us. Aside from the smell of cigarettes, the room itself was clean and a great size. It had a small kitchenette which I hadn’t expected. The Fridge was great to have, though we didn’t use the oven to know if that worked or not. The hotel felt safe as you needed your room key to get in from the outside doors. Some comments on here see this as a downside for food deliveries, but added safety is always a bonus in my eyes. The stay itself was fine – the bed was comfortable and there were no issues with noise from other rooms. On one night there was a car outside playing the music crazy-loud, but it stopped after a while so didn’t ruin my sleep. Overall, there are no doubt nicer motels, but I was happy with the stay for the 2 nights I was here. My 4* rating is based off my experience against expectation - I knocked a star off for the smoking smell in my room.
