Excellent location of the hotel in the heart of Manhattan, landmark near Carnegie Hall, Central Park, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, 10 min walk in all directions, very friendly staff, help with all questions, taxi ordered in a minute, had a great time thanks to the hotel staff

The first day I checked in, the front desk was probably new. It took me a long time to find a room that I had already checked in. Unfortunately, no one was in the room when I opened it, which was embarrassing... Prices in New York are skyrocketing. Generally speaking, it is small, Expensive, so-so.

The receptionist Vanessa/Melissa (can’t remember her exact name) was very kind and professional. The old gentlemen who works at the baggage/bellman area I think knotty he was so sweet and helpful. I wished he was there when we left. The other guys didn’t even offer to help us with our luggage when our car came. Service is important for a nice hotel like Thompson.

My mom and I stayed at this hotel for a girls' weekend - her first time in New York in over 40 years and her first overnight stay! We absolutely loved the Thompson. We were so impressed by the size of the room, the comfortable beds, the Nespresso in the room, the generous closet space, and how quiet the room was at night (12th floor). The staff were all very nice and helpful, even the morning we were checking out we had two different people ask if we needed more towels or water bottles. I noticed some other reviews have complained about the view, but unless you are paying for an upgraded view, it's New York and a view of another building and/or the street below is standard. That didn't bother us. I will be back!

immediately checking in the staff was so friendly- i felt so safe and even late at night they they were very good about security. one staff member was so sweet helping us with putting bags in our uber. had a great stay- so clean and nice.
