We spent 6 nights in the spacious West end suite, ideal for a family of 4, on the ground floor. Very quiet, very clean. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom rather small but sufficient, practical kitchen. The hotel is really well located for visiting Manhattan, the Colonial House has a lot of character, and it is possible to enjoy the nice terrace on the roof (be careful, no elevator). Thanks to Tony for his very friendly and helpful welcome. We will definitely come back.

The guest house is in a good location, is clean and comfortable. A nice buffet style breakfast is provided as well as complimentary tea, coffee and muffins during the day. Most of New York is easy to reach, there is a subway only one block away on 23rd street. Although on the west of Manhattan the guest house is easy to reach from JFK airport as Penn Rail Station is just a 10 - 15 minute walk, the a direct train to the airport only takes 20 minutes. It’s called the Long Island Rail Road. The rooms are cleaned almost daily and the staff are polite and helpful. Recommended.

I hesitate to review as I’d like to be sure I can always book this delightful accommodation in the Chelsea neighborhood of NYC. This was our third time staying here. Tony the host is warm and welcoming and so accommodating. The Inn is clean and cozy, very reasonably priced, and offers both shared bath rooms and rooms with private baths and there are also suites available. We enjoyed our free continental breakfast in the inviting lobby before starting our days. Within walking distance of the fabulous Highline, the Chelsea Market, Greenwich Village and more..we had much to do and see right in the neighborhood. At the end of a full day, we enjoyed the roof deck and views from atop the Inn. As an active senior couple, happy with casual and affordable accommodations, The Colonial house is a perfect choice for us!
