The hotel is right next to New York University, which is convenient for visiting friends there, but the hotel room is not big and the bed is not big.

The location of the hotel is close to New York University. I wanted to experience a hotel with history, but the experience is very bad. The whole hotel is like a guest house with poor sound insulation and small rooms. In a word, it is old and small.

I LOVED my stay at the Marlton.
I traveled alone, and yes, the room is small. For me, not a problem though, and the amenities, character and location of the hotel more than made up for the small room.
Loved the charm & furnishings in the room and the lobby. Location of the hotel is fantastic. The free breakfast is excellent- also loved the coffee and newspapers in the lobby in the morning.
All the staff I met were very friendly and helpful.
I WILL be back!

Love this hotel--chic and comfortable and the food is yummy, too (though don't expect quick service). However, housekeeping sounded like a recycling truck rumbling through the neighborhood while cleaning rooms on my hall early Saturday morning. Dragging bags full of glass bottles down the hall loud. Completely ruined my sleep which was a bummer as the room itself was very comfy. As a former New Yorker I don't expect to have a completely quiet stay anywhere in Manhattan, but this was notably bad.
