This is a very good value option a few blocks from Penn station. It’s sort of a hostel, but with more privacy. Solo clients get a small wooden cabin rather than a Japanese style pod. Cabins have power sockets, a shelf for luggage and a small table. Common areas are clean but showers a little small. Stairs are steep. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a low fuss, low cost short stay, this should be an option.

Horrible! I wasn't told check in time and when I arrived I had to almost 4 hours to get rooms "cleaned". As soon as I move the folded blanket I see bed bugs...I spoke to owner Adi and he acted that's the norm... great location, but if you stay here check for bed bugs.... Also they treat you like a child telling you put your phone on silent, or go outside to talk on your phone....worst experience of my life and will never return and I'm video of the bed bugs I'm turning in to the Health Code department...A cheap night isn't worth a bed bug bite!

The SINGLE most HORRIFIC experience in my life: Michael, Manager uses advertising that is not accurate. He called me a profane name when I called ******* due to tiny room, no ceiling =no sleep due to snoring. I am disabled/handicapped. Showers are used by men & woman. I have pictures of how disgusting they were. Bathroom needed cleaning, hall congested with paint cans & junk. I tripped the first night & scratched/ bruised upper right thigh. I found bugs under covers the next night. No wifi , no A/C & it went as high as 97 degrees. No sleep for 4 nights. Stressed out and no sleep/stress are autoimmune enemies. I was told by ******* a full refund would be given. Two nights were taken back? Filed a dispute with bank. I left for JFK exhausted. I have a seizure disorder and was rushed to hospital. I had to walk alone from hospital at 4am to subway, etc. I incurred huge medical expenses. I contracted COVID at Chelsea Cabins. The rooms have no ceilings. I would not recommend this hotel, not even as a last resort. Please, do not stay here, it is very bad! Update: Twelve days later and I am still COVID positive, however my bank sided with my dispute for full refund, as well as Klarna. Thank goodness. Bugs in bed, fire trap, not sure how it is legal. The SINGLE most HORRIFIC experience in my life: Michael, Manager uses advertising that is not accurate. He called me a profane name when I called ******* due to tiny room, no ceiling =no sleep due to snoring. I am disabled/handicapped. He had the gall to ask me to prove it? Three flights of cast irons stairs. If you fall? Death would most likely occur. Showers are used by men & woman. I have pictures of how disgusting they were. Bathroom needed cleaning, hall congested with paint cans & junk. I tripped the first night & scratched/bruised upper right thigh. I found bugs under covers the next night. No full size twin, wifi did not work, no A/C & it went as high as 97 degrees. I ate 1/2 bagel at breakfast x 1 & was chastised for being three minutes after breakfast, by Michael. No sleep for 4 nights. Stressed out and no sleep/stress are autoimmune ennemies. I was told by ******* a full refund would be given. 4 credits were there, then 2 disappeared, were taken back. Who takes back refunds? I left for JFK exhausted. I have a seizure disorder usually brought on by extreme stress. I collapsed, was seizing, rushed to hospital. I do not remember, but a good bang on head. A Doctor found me. I had to walk alone from hospital at 4am to subway, etc. I incurred huge medical expenses. It took 26 hours at airport for my next flight as I missed mine due to seizures. It is a FIRE trap. Exposed wire, no sprinklers, wires near water, fire boxes unwired. I guess you jump out three story window. I reported to police. Bad area of town. A “unique vegetarian hostel” but they do not have food service, no bed changing. After three days with same towel, I asked for another and I was refused. Save yourself a headache. I would not recommend this hotel.

Rooms were box rooms: very, very small, but I admit they were very clean. The 2 male receptions were friendly offering to take my luggage up the hundred staircase but I wouldn’t say this hostel was particularly nice from the outside. Regardless whether you had your own room, you could hear everything - people breathing, people’s conversations etc. I was not happy to have my room next to the “reception room” so I had to leave and find a hotel instead.

I’m leaving this review four months after I returned from my trip I’ve just remembered to do it. First of all I want to compliant the staff Mike especially, a New Yorker born and bread from Greenwich Village was a really helpful. Nothing was to much effort his customer service skills are excellent, and he made you feel very welcome from the moment you arrived. Also there is an Irish guy can’t remember his name who’s a joint partner in the business who was equally as nice. The rooms are only small however there really snug and cosy and for a sole traveller there okay. The location is excellent right in the heart of Chelsea, near the Meat Packing District,Greenwich Village and the West Village. The wifi also was good throughout my short stay, the only slightly negative thing is the stairs you have to take get up to reception, there’s approx 30 stairs and with your luggage etc it can be quite the challenge. The showers were also good and Mike let me have a shower after I ‘checked out’ as my flight wasn’t till late in the evening and I’d been out all day. Would recommend and definitely stay again.
