The hotel is in a very traditional European style, which was specially chosen when choosing it. I don’t like American modern style, nor do I like art hotels. European style is relatively delicate, elegant, and perfectly matches reality and imagination. The carpet in the room has a white iris pattern, which is very a**ospheric. The small restaurant on the second floor serves breakfast and snacks, as well as afternoon tea.
The location of the hotel is very convenient, right on the edge of Fifth Avenue. It is also very convenient for shopping, eating and taking the subway.

The air conditioner is quite noisy. The room is not small. It is very convenient to go to Fifth Avenue. There is scaffolding on the exterior wall. There is a snack room on the second floor, where breakfast and afternoon tea can be arranged. not bad!

This is an older hotel, but the service and location make it a great place to stay. We had a small room, but it was comfortable, and always clean. The staff couldn't have been nicer. They have a library/lounge that added to the ambiance and convenience, with coffee, latte's, expresso's, pastries, fruit and beverages. It made our mornings and late afternoons a relaxing place to unwind from the day or simply read the newspapers provided. They also had a computer available to print out boarding passes etc. Everything was close by to the hotel- we walked to our Broadway play (in the 50's), the MOMA, and restaurants. The Monkey Bar there, has a great restaurant with atmosphere, wonderful food and service (pricey but worth it). We stayed 4 nights and our total bill, with all taxes, resort fees was $1600- a great price for what we had, and we would definitely return.

We enjoyed a two night stay at this old building in Midtown East. It was a good location for seeing a show, or walking to museums. We got Room 44, which did not have any view to speak of, but what it lacked there, it made up for in quietness. We felt a world away from others in the room. The appointments themselves could use some updating: our mattress was very soft, and much of the furniture looked worn. The $25 fee attached to the room allows you access to the Club Room where there are sodas, waters, and snacks at all hours. This was very convenient, as was the continental breakfast (hard-boiled eggs, yogurts and pastries).

Love the Elysse! Could have a few more amenities in room but otherwise, wonderful! I will stay there again. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. Thank you!
