April, 2024 My 3 teenage kids and my wife and I went to NYC for a spring break trip and stayed here for 3 nights. We got 2 rooms that were connected. Kids room had 2 double beds and our room had a queen or king bed. It was a WONDERFUL experience. Carlos to bellhop was so nice, he's been there over 25 years! The front desk people were amazing too, service was A+. The 2nd floor free breakfast and food recharge area was a big hit with my family. Especially in NYC where food is $$$. We grabbed a few protein bars and bananas (and doughnuts) for the backpacks before heading out to the city every morning. My daughters liked the cappuccino machine. Also right across the street was a shop to buy wine and spirits and I bought a bottle of wine there for my wife and I. Rooms were clean and nice, and well maintained. Nice artwork everywhere too. Felt very safe and the hotel staff was really great. Safety was a concern for my family since we have kids and we never felt unsafe at all. Great , safe area. We did not eat at the Monkey Bar restaurant, but we did walk in and it looked really fun, but more of an adult crowd. Felt like a 1920s speak-easy. Awesome a**osphere. I would go back again to this hotel for sure! highly recommend. Location was close to everything too. We walked to Broadway and watched a musical, it was about 20-25min walk, but it was fun. We walked everywhere. I figure if Marilyn Monroe can stay here and if Tennessee Williams (who wrote "street car named desire") can live in the hotel it must be nice. LOL Book it! The rooms were clean and well-maintained. No issues. Nearby activities: Everything! You're in Manhattan! Safety: Never felt unsafe. Loved it here. Walkability: can walk about anywhere or take an Uber if it's too far, or subway if you feel adventurous. Food & drinksCan eat on the 2nd floor from early morning until midnight free coffeee, doughnuts fruit, hard boiled eggs etc.
