The aesthetics there are lovely. Our floor was very quiet, and it felt like a very safe place to stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We dined in the restaurant a couple of times, and found the food to be quite good. We would definitely stay there again

Older building with some charm but a sense on expectation that you will be okay with them viewing you only as a profit opportunity.

Great hotel and a great location. We’ve stayed there every year about the same time for 4 years but this year the staff seemed a bit less friendly. We got checked into a dirty room. It happens but when we told the desk clerk he said let me find you another room. He took a minute and then said let me talk to my manager and left for almost 5 minutes. Very odd. He came back and gave us the same room on a lower floor. It was handicapped room which was fine. Our other interactions with the front desk were professional but just a bit off and cold. Asked if the had a Cabernet at the bar and they said yes and we got the bill it was $32. I told the bartender we will pay it and give you a 20% tip but we didn’t see a cab on the menu so you should have informed us of the price. She then pulled out a second menu that did have the $32 Cabernet listed. But it wasn’t on the menu that we ordered from. The next day the Sauvignon Blanc that we also ordered off of Menu 1 was not available and the bartender had no knowledge of it. Again, odd. That’s all I can say. We will stay again but I felt things were a bit slippery this year.

Very well situated hotel, small lobby, but lots of seating, seems pretty quiet. Very spacious comfortable rooms, big closets, very affordable for NYC. Much better than similarly priced hotels in the neighborhood. Great find in the heart of midtown.
