Hotel RL Brooklyn

Cozy and warm neighborhood coworking space with lots of room and tables and complementary water and coffee. Nice music was playing as well. It’s part of a hotel I believe as well. I hope to be back to cowork in the future!

On the afternoon we were to checkin they cancelled our reservation. Found out when our plane landed. Travel agent said they must of over booked. Would recommend to anyone to avoid this hotel. They should of given at least a days not so that we could rebook somewhere else!

I booked my reservation through the hotel website on 4/28/23 for a reservation on Friday 6/2/23. I never received an email that this property became an emergency shelter. The security guard at the entrance said that our reservations carried over to the Marriott a few blocks away. We called Marriott and no one knew what we were talking about. No one answered Hotel RL's phone. I message their social media accounts and no response. I emailed their customer service email address which bounced back because it was invalid. We traveled 3.5 hrs to Brooklyn to be told that this site is a shelter. Unreal how they did not even contact me to inform me of this inconvenience. I still have not heard from anyone in regards to this matter. What a waste of time and stressful situation to be put in!

I booked this hotel for two nights in mid-June at the end of April. Upon arrival late in the evening, I was greeted by a security guard who told me that the hotel had been turned into a shelter for the homeless three weeks before. Never received information from the hotel about this - all they could be bothered to do was put up a notice next to the entrance that the hotel was "closed due to unforeseen circumstances". The security guard told me that all bookings had been carried over to a nearby Holiday Inn Express. Upon arrival there, the receptionist was only rolling her eyes and told me that this was not the case and the security guards were simply making stuff up to get rid off angry customers. The HIX had no availability so I spent an hour (and a fortune for overseas calls) on the phone to contact ********** where I had made the booking. They were able to assist and found me a hotel room in Lower Manhattan which they reserved and paid for. Had to trek from Brooklyn to Manhattan around midnight, though, which is nothing for the faint-hearted particularly at the Brooklyn end (when I asked at the HIX about alternative local hotels, the girl just shrugged and said there were non - only shelters in the area....) While hotels are keen to cut out the middle-men like *******/**********, this case showed that it can pay off to not book directly with a hotel. ********** did all they could to assist me and where genuinely concerned to find a solution. Should this place ever open again as a hotel, I strongly recommend not to book directly with them as they absolutely do not care about their customers.

NO STARS. this place is closed and is now a shelter. No notice to travelers, Do not book a room here!!!!!! Reservations were not made at another hotel. Not sure why this hotel is still listed when it is closed. DO NOT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Location GREAT Service- even better! I had Erika at check in- she's vivacious and a multi tasker...and took care of us quickly. I must say the breakfast is excellent! Chef Issac really cares about his area- everything was sparking clean,always full each item, and so much flavor in his dishes! Carlos was the cleaner and he REALLY took pride in the whole check in area and shiny windows! He was so polite- excellent team member! The only negative is my partner is 6'4 So next time I'd need a larger room But that was my error in booking. Thanks to all of you and to treating us so kindly- we will be back!

I showed up for a one night stay on Saturday May 27- 4:00 PM. I was told the hotel had been turned into a shelter and all reservations cancelled. No prior notice. I book in early May. And I can’t imagine that neighborhood at night.
