Located next to Winchester Cathedral and close to High street, the hotel is quiet and comfortable.

Stayed here as we were going on a cruise from Southampton. Staff and cleanliness was fantastic. However as usual the staff was doing the job of 3 people very unfair.the restaurant was extremely poor. Next time I will be Dining at macdonalds thats how bad it was. You cannot run a restaurant with minimal staff and expect the quality to be adequate. This is no reflection on the staff they worked so hard and always had a smile on their face. Shame on you premier inn!!

We stayed two nights about a week apart on our way to and from the Southampton ferry. Both times we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms, location and ease of parking. The first time we stayed, we felt the restaurant was a little farce like with a number of meals not quite being right and staff searching for the right table to deliver desserts to etc. However, on our second night stay we were blown away with the restaurant in a very very busy Sat breakfast session. In particular the duty manager Paula was incredibly impressive - clearing and setting tables to get new tables ready asap, reassuring customers and staff, moving at top speed very calmly, and lots of smiles - nothing was too much for her. We would definitely stay here again.

Great family room. Easy parking and having a restaurant onsite was so nice. Food was lovely with a great selection. Staff were so friendly and proactive in clearing away empty tables asap. Was so impressed with Paula, Michelle & Alex that we will definitely stay again.

Hotel was fantastic. All the staff were helpful and polite. A big thank you to Michelle who helped us out today. It was spotless with a great breakfast. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area. Very near to Highclere Castle and plenty of restaurants nearby.

Hotel room comfortable and clean. Check in took long time as the staff member was also serving food and had to wait for her to serve food. Evening meal not so bad but breakfast was tasteless, fatty and expensive at £10 a person

Considering we had an accessible room, the beds were far too soft giving no support. They were also too low. On requesting the beds be raised we were advised that they used to have 'elephant feet' to raise the beds but due to health and safety reasons, these were no longer used. This made it extremely difficult to get out of the bed. There are no drawers in the room and very limited hanging space with a little cubby hole over, so having to bend to virtually live out of a suitcase was impractical with our mobility issues. There is no toilet brush in the bathroom so I had to buy one. Advice was that they do not leave a toilet brush in the bathroom so essentially you could be left with a dirty toilet until the next day. We requested daily cleaning which was met with some surprise. So uncomfortable was our stay that we left after 2 nights. We were so disappointed to cut our stay short and will not consider Premier Inn again unless things change for the better. I would advise a late breakfast. On the first morning, breakfast at 8.30am had been sat under heat lamps. The bacon was so dry it was barely edible. Day 2 breakfast at 9.30 was cooked to order which was good. If you do not need an accessible room it may well be a good option for a short stay, but not for us, unfortunately.

Arrived yesterday, bit early so registered our car then went off to the town centre. Came back at 3 and was greeted by Paula. We asked for an upstairs room and she was so friendly and accommodating. Think it's the 4th time we have stayed here and will not stop anywhere else now. It is a really good stop over on our way to Devon. Thank you Paula you are a credit to the company.
