We were not aware that 70% of hotel was closed for renovations.
We were disturbed by builders drills at 8.00am
Breakfast was in temporary restaurant and was cold on both mornings
No atmosphere felt like camping in a building site

Went to Slieve Donard for Sunday Carvary to Celebrate our 30th Anniversary with family. Fantastic food. Stayed over and had a beautiful breakfast

I attended a conference in May at the Slieve Donard and found staff professional as well as attentive. Good sized room for a large conference with excellent technology which is important for such events. Buffet gorgeous, compliments to the chef on the layout and choice of food. The tea was excellent as well.

Absolutely fabulous. Well worth paying a bit extra for a sea view. Totally stunning views, opulent room and delicious breakfast.

I have stayed many times but this time we were very disappointed with the room. The hotel has been taken over and they have refurbished, however, the rooms are very dark, painted a dark green with light green doors and a dark blue/purple ceiling. Paint scratched and coming off the doors, very poor painting. The room had no character. Lighting was very poor. Fake bedside and dressing table drawers so only place to put your clothes was a very small wardrobe, so we didn't bother unpacking. Ony a very small shelf in the bathroom so nowhere to put your washbags. Reception of the TV was awful so really couldn't watch anything. On the second day the room still hadn't been serviced by 4pm so had to go and ask for shampoo, water, milk teabags etc. Told them not to bother with the service as in making the bed as we were leaving the next day. Pillows were not good, no substance but the bed was comfortable. It is a real shame as the hotel was wonderful before. On the plus side the downstairs is nice, bar, spa, Lighthouse Lounge, snooker room, restaurant and the dinner was lovely and a good breakfast with a good choice and of course the wonderful view of the Mourne Mountains.

We stayed for our daughter's birthday and will definitely be back. The service was first class, the staff extremely helpful and professional, the room was superb and our dining experience at The Percy French was amazing. Can't recommend the Sleeve Donard enough.

New name, new image and exceptional standards. The rooms were beautifully decorated with very traditional fittings. Fixtures, fittings, furnishings and furniture all beautifully co ordinated. Public areas immaculate and the new restaurant was jaw dropping. Attention to detail in every aspect was first class.

The Staff were friendly and the food was good but we spent the night awake listening to loose tiles / roofing banging in the wind . We reported to reception but nobody followed up with our complaint . We left early in the morning after a terrible nights sleep

This is a beautiful hotel and I loved the style and decor of the place. Staff were lovely particularly at check in and it’s a fab location. Really enjoyed the spa as well. My only minor critique would be that the room was very warm at night and there wasn’t a heating panel or ac to control this.
