Dundrum Inn ★★★

📍 143 Main St, Newcastle

"Awful . Poor service not once but twice . Very slow . Owners attitude on reasonable complaint was appalling. Not interested in even listening to complaint. Could easily have been resolved at the time but chose to arrogantly take position his establishment could not make a mistake . Don’t go here"

Blue Door Apartments

Blue Door Apartments ★★★

📍 4A Main St, Newcastle

"The place was clean, modern and welcoming but there were a few problems. Firstly, the booking claims to have WiFi included, but the only network available was a free cafe WiFi. My girlfriend struggled to sleep as the bedroom is directly beside a noisy crosswalk which activates throughout the entire night, I slept fine, so just keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper. The customer service was excellent, getting a response in less than 20 minutes. The location as a whole was good, close to many food places and 10 minute walk from a spar and a Tesco. I would recommend this place for the price and a short trip but if you are going for a week or longer, I would look elsewhere."

"A shame considering this is such a beautiful hotel and we had anticipated so much more.. We had a poor experience and there didn’t seem to be an option for us to complain during our stay on here. Initially arrived and our room door was broken meaning we were delayed getting into to our room.. During the wait we noticed a Dog coming out of the room next door which with allergies we couldn’t accept and therefore requested a change of room which was agreed. Upon going to our new room it was made up for a family with 2 singles a sofa bed and a dog bed with dog bowls sitting (not at all the luxury hotel room we had anticipated) This room was then again changed adding to our delay to start enjoying our trip. Once settled into our third Room we opted to have a cup of coffee from the advertised coffee machine however this just ran off coloured water with floating bits (noted to the hotel) Not wanting to waste anymore time we went down to the spa and relaxed in the pool etc. We were left with a card to leave on the door for room service breakfast which we thought would be a lovely touch (additional cost affordable) We followed the instruction and later fell asleep looking forward to breakfast in bed however our breakfast didn’t come (our card had been lost in the kitchen and therefore we had to ring down and received our breakfast over an hour late) we then had to ring again as the condiments we selected were also missing. This has been an experienced full of delays and disappointment and even when given extra time to have our breakfast and get ready we were constantly interrupted by house keeping as reception had failed to communicate we were being given extra time. Not sure if we would return to this hotel which is a shame as I’m sure had everything been organised better we would have enjoyed the amenities."

"The bed. The mattress? The Savage Room ..........honestly I have never slept on a more comfortable mattress in my life . Some kind of magic ergonomic design . This is a beautiful B and B . Staff lovely. Beer garden amazing : designed like an Ibiza party spot but tooled up for the NI coastal weather. Savage room had sea view, hot radiators, beautiful toiletries supplied, classically designed room. Breakfast was tasty ."

"Well equipped apartment, stayed here with my daughter for a long weekend and had a great time. Very handy for shops and restaurants. Free car parking just around the corner. Very comfortable and quiet apartment. Lovely area to visit with beautiful scenery and some great walks. Would recommend Enniskeen Estate first sauna and afternoon tea."

Enniskeen Country House Hotel ★★★
"This was our first stop of a 2 week vacation through the UK. First, this country house is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful, and our room was absolutely lovely. Our bed was amazingly comfortable, and the view out our window was picturesque. Despite the current heat wave across most of Europe, nights were eventually cool and a few open windows kept us nice and comfortable. We loved that the inn was just a few minutes outside of town (Newcastle), outside the bustle of people and cars. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and we enjoyed our morning breakfasts. The outdoor patio and adirondack chairs in the rear provided a peaceful spot for an evening beverage while overlooking the gardens. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting the area!"

Cherryhill Lodge ★★★
"Cherryhill Lodge is a new build with bright and modern facilities with incredible views - the garden is well looked after and full of life at this time of year. The food is great, there's a wide choice for breakfast and it was of exceptional quality - served with homemade soda bread and wheaten bread too. The room was very clean and bright with a really comfortable bed. Our hosts John and Patricia were warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to coming back for another stay in the future and would highly recommend Cherryhill Lodge,"
