We went for Sunday lunch on 19/5. What a fabulous experience. From the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming, in lovely surroundings. Lunch was superb, with plenty of choices for starters, we both decided on roast beef. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent, we could not fault it. Special thanks to Harry, who was very attentive at all times, and certainly made the afternoon more enjoyable. Thank you Hotel Du Vin, we will be back.

We had a fabulous evening in the Shipyard room on 18th May to celebrate my Father-in-law’s 90th birthday. Luke did a brilliant job of looking after us and certainly went the extra mile to make it extra special for us all, nothing was too much trouble! Everyone loved the food, all really delicious! Two of our party are vegetarians and they also loved their choices, not always the case. The room itself was beautifully presented and the perfect venue for a party of our size. All in all, we all had a wonderful time – thank you so much to you, Luke and all your team.

The hotel itself is very nice, from the exterior right through all the reception areas to the rooms the attention to presentation is very good. It really is a nice hotel. Our room had a great view of the Tyne and the quayside. Nice and clean with all the amenities you would expect. The bed however was a bit uncomfortable and so I didn’t have the best sleep. We dined in the bistro and opted for the chateaubriand and Malbec offer which was very nice but the fries were frozen and at that price range I would expect home made. The service was a bit hit and miss and it wasn’t very busy. Could’ve been better. A bit disappointing especially at this price. Breakfast was better, a nice selection, something for everyone I think, however the eggs could’ve been better quality though they were poached very well. The service at breakfast was very good, thank you. Overall it was a nice stay but let down by a few little details.

Amazing room, we had one of the junior suites for our stay.
One disappointing aspect was we’d decided to have the taster menu only to be told this needed to be pre-ordered but we couldn’t find any information on the menu to support this. Other than that fabulous food and wine during our evening meal in the bistro and breakfast was excellent too.

Fantastic overnight stay in order to celebrate an anniversary. Welcomed to the hotel by Zuwena who was friendly, professional and answered any questions we may have. Our room was simply stunning and it was a delight to be able to stay in such a lovely setting. We enjoyed a five course meal with matching wines and was very impressed with Rebecca’s knowledge and she spoke with passion. We will definitely be returning to hotel du vin and would recommend others to visit

I attended a private lunch for around 50 guests and was treated to a 3 course meal. From previous experience, I knew the food is always good here but was so impressed by the high quality we were served. I had the beef and it was beautifully cooked but everyone with me were equally happy, it is very impressive to be that good when serving over 50 people at once!

A Land and Building Industry Thursday afternoon lunch and drinks with approximately 50 people across the sector spending a few hours together. Great value for money and great food and first class service as expected from this dedicated Team at Hotel Du Vin, they can’t do enough to make any visit feel special.
