"On the whole the hotel was lovely, the staff very helpful. The downside for me was the shampoo was up high for people having a shower, so when in the bath I could not reach, it was screwed in so I could not bring it down to the bath. Having not long had a hip replacement standing up in the bath to reach the shampoo was not an option. There is no air conditioning in the room, there is a fan, but it did not cool the room. I hear that the hotel is going to be under new management at some point this year and they will be refurbishing the rooms, so hopefully they will install air conditioning. Also, there was no safe in the room for valuables. The breakfast was a buffet style, and was warm not hot, and with the air conditioning on, the food went cold which was a shame. We did dine one evening and the food was really nice. We used the pool facilities and jacuzzi, very nice experience. I loved my room it was a good size, massive bed, and a fridge, which was handy for cold water etc. If you needed extra tea, milk etc the staff would sort it for you."

The location is unbeatable—just 2-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station, and only 10 minutes to Quayside and St. James’ Park, super convenient for travel and sightseeing. The free hot breakfast was fantastic, with fresh waffles, classic English breakfast and even porridge, perfect for all tastes. The room was clean, quiet and cozy, with a comfy bed, ergonomic work desk and free high-speed WiFi, ideal for both leisure and business trips. 24-hour front desk offered great service with luggage storage, and the 24-hour gym with Peloton bikes was a nice bonus."

"Very close to the highway, just turn down. Stop by and the hotel is very comfortable overall. Many locals go to the lobby bar to drink and chat at night. Very clean, the room is large and very comfortable. The dinner is delicious, and the English breakfast is average. I came from China, so I can only say it's average. If you are tired from the journey, it is very pleasant to take a rest here."

"I had 4 suites booked. A 21st birthday and 40th on the same day. Happy with the location and what was available in the hotel. But. Bar was closed early, bathrooms were good but grouting was a little under kept and my biggest disappointment was breakfast. Took nearly 40mins for an eggs Benedict. Was a bit disappointed with that due to the amount I spent on rooms. Sorry for the critical feedback, other than those few bits. Parking was easy, check in time great, staff good."

"We stayed for four days while visiting family in Newcastle and it was perfect. The location is excellent. It’s easy to reach from the motorway close to the north side of the city with plenty of amenities nearby including a pub, McDonald’s and InstaVolt chargers for my electric car. The staff were friendly and attentive in ensuring our twin room was on the ground floor to suit my mum‘s mobility needs and happily providing extra towels and a hairdryer when asked. As always with Travelodge, the room was clean fresh and comfortable, exactly what we like. We would happily stay again."

"The Uber driver joked, "Did you know that hotel wasn't just a fire station, it was also a police station and a prison! They hold inmates there!" I replied, "Our room had such a high and big window, it probably couldn't hold inmates..." But perhaps because it was a fire station and police station, the yang energy was so strong that I woke up sweating profusely three nights even with the air conditioning off; the local nighttime temperature was close to zero degrees Celsius..."

"No complaints about the hotel itself as we have stayed there before but unfortunately we got very little sleep due to our room being opposite ‘The vineyard’ which used to be a normal wine bar and now has music on until 3am ! And it was extremely loud. Even though our windows had secondary double glazing you can clearly hear the tunes! If you stay and are a light sleeper I would suggest a room at the back of the hotel. If you are young and going to be out anyway it won’t be an issue."
