Great
GGuest UserExcellent location, very near to the train station. Places to eat and see were a short walk away from the hotel. The Angel of north was a 15 min drive. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great too! We had an amazing time using the spa facilities aswell. Would definitely recommend
GGuest UserGreat service, really attentive staff. The restaurant food was good although very heavy on chicken based dishes and limited on vegan options. The room was good and came with complimentary drinks and snacks.
FFengyesuixingI don't recommend this store very much. First of all, if it is not a self-driving car, it is really not recommended to choose. There is nothing around except the grass. I chose it because it is close to Anik Castle. Secondly, I gave a disabled accessible room with the most outside bar. The room was big, but the shelves for hanging clothes were low and scary, and the shower was low, which was not friendly to those of us who were tall. There is also the exhaust of the room. We thought it was not working. We only knew that the exhaust of these international chain hotels in the UK was connected to the air conditioner after staying in the hotel, but the people in charge of the project also said that it was broken. Let us change the room. We have already opened the box on the same day. Personal supplies, I didn't want to move around again, so I was worried all night that the shower would slip wet. Breakfast was pure British buffet, nothing to pick. The experience is that if it is not for special reasons or if you have a car, it is not recommended to book this hotel. When you book, you will clearly inform the floor that you do not have a barrier-free room. Especially the Chinese people ask for it clearly. Try the facilities first when entering the room. If you have any problems, you will ask for a room change in time. Don't believe these so-called international brands, sometimes it may be better to stay in a cheap hotel chain like the local British Premium.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located next to Newcastle Central station minutes from the Cathedral, the Castle, the centre of the city near Monument. The hotel entrance has a faded grandeur that isn't intimidating, more comfortably worn. The room was cosy with bathtub and shower. The WiFi was a little temperamental but works fine. A plus for me was the pool and spa facilities at the hotel. Nothing better than a swim to start the day. Excellent location and good value hotel.
GGuest UserBooked a room away from the lift. Gave us a room next to the lift. Went down to see ifcwe could get it changed as we wanted a quiet room On check in we requested this so obviously next to the lift facing the stack is not a quiet room. Next room was directly above the hotels air conditioning unit gave up as obviously the receptionist was having a serious customer service melt down especially when we went out 10 minutes later and she called over ..is that room OK for you? Obviously not as the air conditioning unit screamed all night long we just said yes as what was the best room going to be ?? Certainly will not be back thanks to the totally piss taking receptionist
GGuest UserI stayed due to having an early morning appointment at The Freeman Hospital. The hotel is about 12 minutes walk from West Jesmond Metro Station and the walk from the hotel to the hospital took me 30 minutes in the snow, so probably 10 minutes less on a more normal day - 5 minutes by taxi probably. I am very impressed given that the hotel is billed as just a 2 star one. I would guess that the lack of a 3rd star will be largely down to there not being lifts, not to my second floor room in the main building anyway - potentially a deal-breake, especially if your visit is Freeman related. My room was every bit as comfortable as a Premier Inn one for example and in it's cheerful contemporary way a lot more attractively decorated. I stayed on 4th Jannuary - and the temperature was -5 outside ! The room was a bit chilly when I arrived but a good fan heater had already been put in there to supplement the normal central heating. It was not the hotel's fault that the shower room was never brilliantly warm! The shower was excellent though and the room was very well equipped. I did not try the breakfast; £13.50. Staff were helpful. I'll stay there again and not just for going to the hospital!
GGuest UserVery good hotel with very kind staff, everything was clean. Staff provided everything. They also have free hot water on the first floor, people can make a hot tea or coffee there. And there is also bar with snacks and cold drinks. Only thing that can be improved is bathroom, I think there should be separate bathroom for each room. I think it is not related to each room, but only for very affordable rooms. Overall, it is good hotel and I recommend it.
GGuest UserI booked this for my Grandaughter and I to attend an appointment in Newcastle at 1.30pm and also a concert in the evening at the arena.
Arriving well before check in at 3pm, the receptionist kindly allowed us to park in the hotel car park thus enabling us not to have to move the car from the metro station opposite later. This was a great help- thankyou.
We checked in after our appointment and got our key for room 23. It was nice and cosy with the heating on and extremely clean.
I did struggle to turn off the cold tap fully in the bathroom but my Grandaughter sorted it...maybe needs some attention from a professional.
After getting changed, we headed back up town on the metro where we enjoyed seeing Rick Astley.
It was quite late when we returned hungry but the hotel was fine with us ordering a McDonald's delivery from Kingston Park. All in all with breakfast included in the price, we had a super time. Cheers!
GGuest UserGood location with free parking and about a 15-minute walk to the city centre. The price is reasonable and includes a breakfast box for each guest.
The experience could have been better if the room facilities were maintained and cleaned to a higher standard.
GGuest UserOn the day of check in I arrived early because I had an early train and I had nowhere to go, it was rainy and cold. It was nice that people answered the bell and collected my luggage, but they didn't let me stay on the common area because it was early, so don't count with early check in even if you contact them previously or you can pay £25 for it, no flexibility at all.
The cleaning was fantastic and amazing no-smoking area, really rare in the UK, most places people don't respect the law. Lovely common area with complimentary coffee, tea, milk, biscuits, bread, fruits, etc. The staff is very kind and concerned to provide the best!
I had an extra heater in the room that was really useful as it was freezing cold.
