Newquay Hotels with Airport pickup service

We have recently returned from a week long stay here and were very impressed overall. We had a large well equipped bedroom with a sea view, which was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water and THE best smelling toiletries! House keeping came every day to clean and refresh the tea/coffee etc. The inclusive breakfast was excellent and cooked to order each day. The bar /restaurant is open to the general public and is often busy. This can lead to long wait times for food in the evening. The lunch/main menu is a little limited in scope but everything we tried was well cooked and presented. We found the staff to all be friendly and helpful. If you are staying for even just a few days then booking parking is advisable (as parking in Newquay is generally not easy) but do so at the time you book because spaces are limited. Overall we had a wonderful time at The Great Western and look forward to visiting again next summer.

Unfortunately (and I believe it’s the manager - shaved head and glasses) is just so rude. Local to the area so we have the ‘locals’ card - which has always been an issue. In the past when we have shown it to the staff they’re like ‘we’ve put it on’ when we actively see they haven’t. We recently had to renew the locals card, and every time the new code given to us doesn’t work. My husband has tried three times, and given his details to the staff three times because they ‘promise it will get sorted’. This last time, the above mentioned manager just had no desire to assist. Quite stiff when we ordered drinks, short with his staff. When we gave him the locals card number he said ‘it’s expired’ and just brought over the PDQ without even trying to look into it. When I expressed that it really didn’t seem fair to not look into as it wasn’t our fault he said ‘well it’s not my fault either! - cutting me off as I was trying to explain that this would now be the third time we have followed the instruction to use the QR code and leave details with them. I just said ‘that’s a bit spicy and rude way to respond but okay’ and walked off to him shouting after me ‘no it’s not really!’ I’m sorry, I do love this place for so many reasons and memories but this manager is just so rude.

First time staying at this Travelodge and will definitely stay here again. Room was spacious and very clean. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, I can't name anyone as I couldn't see any name badges. Even though our room faced onto the road the traffic noise was minimal during the night so didn't bother us even with the window open. Excellent base for exploring Cornwall as it is 2 minute walk to the railway station and nearest bus stop.

The hotel is ok, old but trying to keep up, it’s at a very good location, many shops and restaurants around. Everything is just walking distance both Towan Beach and Great Western Beach. If you need a public laundry there is also one very close about 4 minutes. In my opinion I think the management should really try to upgrade their facilities because it’s really old, nevertheless it was a great stay.

Such a good price for the location and the room, we had a sea view and the room was so clean and very modern I thought! Bathroom very small but didn’t really bother us you get what you pay for, we had bottles of water and little shampoo and conditioners and even a hair dryer and fan! Ideal! Perfect location in the middle of town! The Bed was the cosiest bed I have ever slept in, even better than my own haha! Staff very nice especially the male bar tender, super friendly and welcoming!

Well what can I say. Absolutely fabulous hotel. Just back from a five day couch tour and stayed at this hotel. Our room had a seaview and what a view. It was spacious and Mum required a fridge in our room for her medication this was in our room on arrival. The food was first class, fresh vegetables and a good choice of food. Full English Breakfast was delicious. The swimming pool was awesome I went every day. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely return to this hotel. Thankyou for a great stay.
