A friendly welcome at check-in, room was small (Captain's Room) but comfortable. We ate both lunch and dinner at the pub which was very good. Lots of taps, I recommend the Angel Bitter. Reminded me of historical pubs / inns we have stayed at in England and Ireland. There's live entertainment which can be heard in the rooms above, it wraps up at 12:30am. If you're looking for quiet and modern, this is not the place for you. We loved it. We'll be back.

The Olde Angel Inn (c.1815) rebuilt on the remains of the original (c.1789) after it was burned is an historical gem with only 5 rooms, the perfect location, an incredible pub and a fantastic relatively new outdoor patio as well as putting green. This was our 3rd stay here and love that the place just oozes character, history and authenticness. We had the Captains room that gave us a view of Queen Street and it was located over the bar. We knew they had a band playing on our last night and the sound didn't bother us, though we were in the pub during most of the evening music. We ate and drank here 4 times during our 4 night stay and found the food to be excellent and the bar/restaurant staff personable and efficient. The Inn's office manager, whose name now escapes me was wonderful, upbeat and full of information as was Leah, who checked us in. This inn is perfect for the fairy tale town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and we can't wait to return.

Lots of charm and history. Also lots of cobwebs, sticky floors and noise. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, look elsewhere. Nice enough place but needs a lot of work and a really really good deep clean in the rooms. We stayed in the two-room suite and the bathroom wouldn’t have been out of place on an airplane it was so small.

We really enjoyed our stay at this historic property. Rates are much more reasonable than nearby properties. Steps to everything. The bed was so comfortable and the food at the attached pub was delicious. Would definitely stay here again!

A historic inn right in the center of town. The room was small and comfortable. It was in walking distance of the Shaw Festival theater, shops and restaurants. There is a bar and restaurant on the first floor with excellent food. My only concern was when I checked I was told there was a band in the bar playing till midnight. Not a problem for us since we didn’t get back from the play till 11:30 pm. After a drink and some excellent dessert, I had no problem sleeping. S

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly. I was impressed by the quaint charm of the Inn. My first impression of the room was that it was cute. After settling in I started to see the drawbacks of the room. There were no drawers for clothing. There was a very large wardrobe on top of which was perched the television. The bathroom did not have any place for storing toiletries. It was a pedestal sink with no shelving. There was an air conditioner in the room that worked but not enough to really cool the room down. The bathtub was deep. The shower pressure was good and I didn't run out hot water. The pub below is convenient, but due to the age of the building you can hear conversations of guests in the pub from your room. In the morning. They clean the pub so you can hear furniture being dragged around on the floor from about 7:00 a.m.. We were fortunate enough not to contend with live music. I can only imagine how loud that would have been in our rooms. The bed was comfortable but the memory foam was hot. The pillows also were memory foam and hot. The room was clean. The location was perfect. It was easy to get to every place we wanted to go. We ate in the pub often and it was very good. Generally, the servers in the pub were friendly I don't think I would stay at the Inn again, but I would visit the pub again.

My wife and I spent one night at the Old Angel Inn. The good news is that the location is great. That's it. You enter by going up three steps into a tiny lobby. There's desk clerk to check you in and hand over your keys. One key is for your room and the for the lobby door which locked in the late afternoon through the following morning. I had to park the car on the street 3 blocks away. You get to your room by going up 11 very steep steps. The desk clerk helps with the luggage. Ou room consisted of a dark bedroom with a window ac unit going full blast, a small bathroom that was neat and clean that led to another room with another ac window unit going full blast that had a tiny couch, one lamp and a chair. The bed was comfortable, and the place is conveniently located at that's it. I think the electric system is outdated. The place looks worn and tired. If the owner upgraded the electrical system so you could light the rooms and refinished the stained gorgeous hardwood floors to make the place look better, it might be worth staying here. Oh, when we checked in the desk clerk asked if we wanted earplugs and a white noise machine if the restaurant/bar got too noisy. I'm not glad we stayed here and we won't come back to this place again.

Stepping into this In is like stepping back in time. Check in was easy, with lovely staff to welcome us. We stayed in the Govenors Suite which was inviting and cozy. The beds were amazing and the towels and sheets top notch. The location is so convenient to everything in NOTL and we loved being able to walk everywhere. The only downfall is we only had one night there. I will definitely be back for a longer stay and will be booking this hotel and room for my stay!

We spent 1 night in the Colonel's Suite. The receptionist on duty when we arrived wasn't very welcoming. It seems that we interrupted her meal as she was eating a bowl of pasta at the check in desk. She told us it was only her 3rd day. The room was okay, but a few small details could make it so much better. We had the Colonel's Suite ($356 CDN for 1 night), which had a room with a king bed, small bathroom, and then a separate sitting area which was accessed through the bathroom. The bedroom had one lamp for the whole room, and only one bedside table. It would be pretty easy to provide more lighting, and an additional bedside table. King bed was firm, but comfortable. The shower head needs attention as it has mildew - I did let the receptionist who checked us out know about this. She was far friendlier than than the Saturday person. The biggest missing thing was tea or coffee making facilities. The inn doesn't offer breakfast at all, so if you want a morning cup of coffee you would have to go and find a local coffee shop. It seems that it is pretty basic hospitality to offer tea or coffee making supplies. We shared this with the check out receptionist who told us that it is a common comment that she has passed on to the proprietors. When you are inn guests you cannot make a dinner reservation in the pub, but they will give you priority to get table. We ate dinner in the inn, the food was satisfactory - not authentically British but ok. We are originally from the UK, so know what to expect from British dishes. We stayed to listen to the band, and found that the sound didn't travel too much to our room as it was over the lobby. The gentleman who was acting as the host that evening was very welcoming, and we had a friendly server who was willing to space out our courses for us while we waited for the band at 9.30pm. Overall a pleasant stay, but nothing special.
