Very good place to explore the area. Hotel is situated in city center of Schmidt. Parking lots are limited but easy parking at the church opposite of the hotel. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Small balcony. Breakfast buffet is good. Diner is also great. Plenty of choices on the menu. Next to the always and in every restaurant available Wiener schnitzel ;-). The spargel were really delicious…! Staff is very friendly and helpful. From this hotel it’s quite easy to walk to the Ruhrsee or some short evening walks in the nature. TIP. Park your car at the picnic place at the kommerscheidtstrasse in Schmidt and follow the walking trail down the hill to visit the Kall bridge and tank track. No signs on the route. But Google maps is always supportive.

Dit hotel lijkt wat 'ouder' maar de kamers zijn helemaal in orde. wij hadden een zeer ruime kamer met ook een balkon tegen de straatkant. De kamer zelf was zeer proper en ook voorzien van een kleine frigo (pluspunt). Helaas was er wel geen koffie of thee voorziening, wat wel jammer was op zo'n koude dag. Er is wel een fles water voorzien. De ontvangst zelf was zeer goed en de mensen zijn er ook vriendelijk. Er werd ook aangeboden om, indien we wouden, 's avonds deel te nemen aan het buffet. Omdat we nog geen idee hadden waar te eten was dit mooi meegenomen. Het buffet bestond uit verschillende dingen. Een saladebar, stokbrood, pasta's, rijst, kaas, salami, soep, kip curry ... Zeer gevarieerd maar uiteraard niet heel fancy, wat ook niet nodig was. Het avondeten was 16 euro per persoon. Het ontbijt was zeer goed. Ook hier heb je een zeer gevarieerd aanbod. Er zijn ook veel muesli's, zaden en zelfgemaakte confituren te vinden. Ik vind het altijd leuk als mensen de moeite doen om te variëren en ook zelfgemaakte producten te gebruiken. Ik kan eigenlijk niets slecht zeggen van dit hotel. Je kan hier ook gebruik maken van de sauna maar dit hebben we niet gedaan omdat we beiden heel moe waren. Ook is er voldoende parking (voor de ingang en achter het hotel) zodat de auto's veilig kunnen staan. Het was een goed verblijf!
