This is my third trip/adventure to Japan. I would say as a solo traveler this has to be one of the very best places I have ever stayed in when travelling around Japan. I came to Nikko np to explore the vast array of hiking trails, all of which I did, had breathtaking views and a poetic, truly majestic Japanese feel to them. I rented a car from Nasushiobara (Shinkansen) and drove across to Kinugawa. On arrival I was greeted by a host of the hotel staff, welcoming me and helping me with parking and my bags. I checked in with ease and with some broken English and Japanese on my part was led to a beautiful traditional Japanese style room overlooking the river. The service throughout was world class and made me feel both very comfortable, at home, but also special. I stayed 3 nights with half board (breakfast and dinner), both truly amazing and served with grace and politeness. On the first evening’s dinner one of the serving staff took the time to speak with me and allowed me to share some of my recent experiences/photos etc whilst preparing dinner - this was most welcome, especially as I had been travelling alone for over a week. The location of the onsen hotel is about 60 mins drive to some of the most sought after walks in the np. Very easy to access by car and excellent roads. The accommodation itself is a mix between very traditional Japanese resort and original/boutique Ryokan. The private and public onsen’s are fantastic and a well deserved rest-bite after a long days hiking! Having been to some of the most popular ryokan’s in Japan; Iwaso, Claska etc, this came as a very nice surprise and at an affordable rate without any compromise. As one of the late summer vacation trips for my family, I used this facility which was the concept of enjoying hot springs. The view from the room is not bad, and the room itself is older than the new building, but the virus countermeasure is firm and it is relaxed, so I don't care. In the hot spring Sanmai plan, you can enjoy the bath as a rental bath, and you can enjoy the stay that comes true for the purpose, and you can enjoy the satisfaction. If you are looking for a meal, you can drive to the station in 5 － 10 minutes and to the convenience store in 5 minutes.

I stayed for one night and two days with my family (5 adults and 2 children (grandchildren)). The purpose of this time is to celebrate my mother-in-law's 88th birthday and show my grandchildren SL Taiki. As soon as we arrived at the ryokan, there was a service for women to choose from several types of yukata. This was a great service for women. Children's yukata were also prepared for grandchildren. My mother-in-law had a gift of bath salts. I entered the room and was able to see the Kinugawa River. I took a bath in the indoor bath, but there are several types of baths, and a ladder is available. The food was plentiful and satisfying for both dinner and breakfast. Employees were bright and responsive. Overall, I was very satisfied. If there is an opportunity, I would like to use it again.

I often use Itoen Hotel. This time I went to Kinugawa because I wanted to show my son the autumn leaves. The hall 々 that overwhelms the others, and the parking lot is already pan-pan. At such a time, I thought I could kill time by choosing souvenirs and open a shop, but it was closed. I was guided to the annex because I had been extended, but once I went out of the main building (cold), I took the elevator to the corresponding floor and the stairs. I had to carry my luggage up, and the luggage truck I borrowed from the front desk was not very helpful. And I'm a little lost due to the complex structure. I avoided it because he told me the crowded time zone at the evening breakfast counter, but in the end it was crowded and the distance from the next seat was so far that I couldn't get a social distance. Well, I focused on all-you-can-drink. I love all-you-can-drink super dry at Itoen Hotel. It was a blissful time to drink like a sake and take a bath in a senpod. Although it is the content of the rice, the menu was richer than other affiliated stores, and shrimp tempura, shrimp, salmon, and engawa sushi were prepared enough, and the replenishment was quick. Although it is a bath, the indoor bath at a good temperature and the bathtub are large and spacious, and the open-air bath has stairs, but it was a rock bath where you can relax. However, you can only get three dryers for this scale. There was a line waiting for the dryer. When I returned to my room and went to bed, it got cold at night in early November, so I couldn't turn on the heating with a small air conditioner, and I woke up several times in the cold at night. Both the futons are thin. Breakfast is as crowded as I imagined. I was disappointed that there was little to do with side dishes. I'm aiming for a low-cost inn, and Itoen Hotel has this quality, so I think it's terrible to ask for more as others say, because there is no way to inconvenience. Access to tourist spots is great and the staff is good, so it's not ”I won't use it anymore!”, but I think it's better to go out with color 々.

1.2 km from Kinugawa Onsen Station, turn right at the station and get a bus at station 5 to go to the hotel. We walked to the hotel, walked over a bridge with many steps, and turned right to the hotel. There is a free bathrobe in front of the hotel counter for visitors to use. Visitors can wear a bathrobe to go outside the hotel. The front desk of the hotel can reserve the bus time to Kinugawa Onsen Station on the 2nd day, 190 adults and 100 yen for children. The front desk will ask you to go to dinner time, the restaurant will prepare the dinner in advance, and the service staff will go to your room when you are dining. Dinner is not a buffet, it is prepared in advance. There are many varieties of dinner, very refined and very Japanese. It is a highlight of this hotel. The room has a balcony, just on the edge of Kinugawa. The room has a separate toilet, bath room, and washroom. General hotels are all together, this hotel is divided into three separate rooms, which do not interfere very well. Hot springs are on the 1st floor. When you go to the hot springs, you must bring the bath towels and bath towels provided in the hotel room. The hot springs on the 1st floor do not have these. Breakfast is a buffet, more generous. There are very few Chinese tourists. It is only us, the other is Japanese. In short, it is a very cost-effective hotel.

The hospitality of the staff was wonderful. From the time we arrived at the lobby to the time we stayed until the time we returned, we were treated with the ideal sense of distance without being intrusive, and it was a very nice trip. The inside of the hotel and the rooms were well-cleaned and I felt comfortable. I had sukiyaki grilled for dinner, and the staff taught me some tips on how to cook it deliciously, so it was a satisfying meal without being overcooked until the end. The rice, water level, and cooking quality are all perfect. The Tochigi Wagyu beef that I ate for the first time had a very light fat content, and it was so light that it didn't make my stomach feel heavy. If you are planning to go to Tobu World Square, it would be a good idea to purchase it together with your accommodation reservation. I really enjoyed talking in Edo language with the actors at Nikko Edomura, and I plan to go there again. I look forward to working with you again at that time.

It is about 5 minutes drive from Kinugawa JR Station. It is suitable for self-driving travel. Guests have hot spring discounts. Each room only needs 450 yen. The hot spring environment is good. The Japanese-style room has a good view and the decoration is relatively new. The staff is warm and courteous, willing to help provide information on eating, drinking and playing, and are very useful. The izakaya introduced is delicious, affordable, and open until 11 pm.

Kinugawa is a hot spring town. There are very few Chinese tourists. It is not a free trip. At the Kinugawa Dragon King Festival, the shrine stopped at the hotel entrance and participated in the celebration. It was very lively, as if the summer festivals in the cartoon were very memorable memories. I lived in a Japanese room, big and spacious, and the window was facing Kinugawa. Everyone will go to the big bathhouse downstairs to take a shower, there is a bathhouse in the toiletries, but the room is simply packed. The breakfast is very rich, there are Japanese and Western styles, and many people have to line up. The front desk doesn't speak English, but I speak Japanese and there is no problem communicating.

I booked a single room in the new building. I do n’t know if it was a new room? The room is not small, but the bathroom is extremely small. It feels smaller than the bathroom in a budget hotel and can hardly turn around. The refrigerator in the room was so dirty that it was not used. There is a wall outside the window of the room. Although the hotel is next to Kinugawa, check out the next day before seeing Kinugawa in the lobby. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are buffets, the taste is average, there are no characteristics, there are a lot of people to eat, the restaurant is crowded. There is only one large bath in the hot spring. It seems that there is also an open-air bath, which was not found. Is a budget spa hotel.

I stayed with my family in December 2021. I liked it too much after a long time, so I repeated my reservation in March. ■ Meals The meals can be selected as ”buffet style”, ”half private room dining room” and ”room meal”, but definitely ”buffet style” is recommended. I thought it would be a pretty delicious part compared to the live kitchen, the freshly fried tenkara and the buffet of the common hotel. This level is not too much to say the same class as the ”hanari” of Lake Hakone, ashinoko. The vegetables that tend to be pulled out of this hand are delicious and exciting. In addition, for families with small children, there is a half-private room zashiki in the buffet venue, and there is a child menu in ”１ lower position than adults” so that small children can take it by themselves Anyway, I was impressed that I was worried about １ rank ２ rank compared to the hotel in the same price range. Then the buffet alcohol was rich in variety and was free to drink at + 1,500 yen. When I chose a little early 17 o'clock, please eat at night. And I received several tickets for the ramen shop opposite the hotel. ■ Facility barrier free etc. I think there is no problem, but I feel a little old (very beautiful) with the toilet on each floor. The size and speed of the elevator are not particularly dissatisfied. ■ Onsen Indoor and Outdoor hot water were very good. I think it is a hot water without any particular feature, but the open-air bath while watching the snow was usually pleasant. ■ Other weekends? Saturday? It seems to be limited, but fireworks rose right behind the hotel. I thought I was working very hard while the customer was decreasing in the corona. I thought Kinugawa had been lonely, but I suddenly wanted to support it.
