"For those heading towards Yumoto Onsen or Chuzenji Onsen, get off at Anryagawa Station, the next stop after Shinbashi Station. It's just a two- or three-minute walk to the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of attractions such as Toshogu Shrine and Shinbashi Bridge. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and the service is attentive. Breakfast and dinner are both Japanese cuisine, a very filling kaiseki meal. Highly recommended if you're only staying one night in Nikko."

I'd definitely bring my family back to this hotel in the winter!"

"This is a long-established hot spring hotel. You'll smell a strong sulfur odor as soon as you enter (remember not to wear any jewelry while soaking in the hot springs). The one-night stay includes two meals in a Western style, and the service is excellent and attentive. There's a tea and coffee area on the second floor, with seats facing the windows – quiet, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding. The scenery must be breathtaking in every season. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the balcony overlooks Lake Chuzenji. Three days and two nights is the ideal duration."

"The service was warm and attentive, and the hotel facilities were well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. If you're not driving, be sure to book the shuttle bus. The buffet dinner was definitely a highlight. Personally, I found the tatami somewhat firm."

"I was able to check in smoothly with valet parking, and checked in while enjoying welcome tea in the open lounge. The room was lovely, and I especially enjoyed sitting on the chairs on the balcony and enjoying the view of the Kinugawa River and the cool autumn air. The food was delicious, and it was nice to see a selection of local Tochigi sake. Breakfast was also great. The young and cute staff member who showed me around was also very kind. The only thing I noticed was that the shampoo and soap in the bath were not very good, so next time I'll bring my favorite ones with me."

"This property is very close to “Nikko” in Japan so it’s situated in a very scenic part of the country . I was the only foreigner staying ( at least as far as I could tell ) but that didn’t matter the interactions I had with non English speaking staff were both warm and helpful . In particular a young lady Ms Henmi she was outstanding , she gave me directions on how to best get to my next port of call. The facilities of the hotel, the room, the Onsen etc are amongst the best I’ve experienced in Japan ."

"Great onsen hotel that is a bit old. We had a private onsen outside that was really nice. Unfortunately there were some communication problems both when checking in and out, but that wasn't too bad. The beds on the tatami mats were very comfortable and the room was generally equipped with everything you needed, even a coffee machine and tea maker."

The instructions for the unmanned self-service hotel were simple and clear, and customer service responded to questions very quickly. Our group of nine was originally allocated only one parking space, but the hotel kindly assisted us by adding an extra space. Since there was a lot of trash due to the large number of guests, we contacted the hotel and they arranged for someone to clean it up. Cooking utensils and cleaning supplies were plentiful. I will definitely return to this hotel next time I travel to Nikko!"
