Seasonal Japanese dishes focusing on Yuba. The inn stands nearby Shinkyo which provides tasty dishes.
"Most of the reviews are outdated so I thought I'd give an updated review. For one thing, there is WiFi (I have informed the landlady that the website indicates otherwise).
This place is a traditional-style inn. You'll be sleeping in a futon (some Google-fu should help you know how to use one), use two pairs of slippers (one for moving around the house, one exclusively for the toilet) and will also bathe in a Japanese-style shared bathroom. The front gate and bathroom close at 10pm, which is not an issue as everywhere in Nikko closes early and it's too dark to hike outdoors (in early Autumn).
We loved using the onsen to relax after a day of strolling around and hiking, and the delicious Japanese-style breakfast was lovingly prepared by a friendly old granny. The premises are old but well-maintained. Toilets, bathroom and onsen were great but we were there during off-peak season so we didn't need to share so much. Should we return to Nikko, this place will be our first choice!"

GGuest UserOur stay at this hostel in Nikko was incredible, and the hostess was the heart of it. She warmly welcomed us with perfect advice for visiting the local sights and a very useful bus map. She thoroughly explained how everything worked, making us feel at home immediately. The balanced breakfast she prepared was delicious and gave us great energy for exploring. Her kind gesture of gifting us origami for a safe journey truly touched our hearts. She is an exceptional host who creates a special, personal experience. GGuest UserWe had a great stay with Yoshiko-san. She was warm and friendly and gave us great tips and recommendations. The house is very conveniently located near the major temples, Kanmangafuchi abyss, and the bus route. The house was also very comfortable, a taste of real Japanese living!

GGuest UserThe guesthouse is quite a way from Nikko town (10-15 mins by bus / 1 hour walk) but is in a good location for getting to the shrines or to Lake Ashi - there's a bus stop close by. The guesthouse was homely and had 2 private onsen. Our room was comfortable enough although the en-suite was very tiny! The host was welcoming but didn't speak any English which meant we had to communicate by translating on our phones. We booked to have breakfast at the guesthouse, but didn't realise that for booking the dinner we needed to give 24 hours+ notice so missed out!

MMaKKaZzzExcellent price-performance ratio hotel with the best logistics you can have in Kinugawa. The facilities with garden are fresh, service is top grade. As for onsen, it is separated, but it has only one bath, which is expected from tiny hotels.
The only little nuisance you can encounter is the late night noise coming from opening doors.
Overall the experience was outstanding, I will choose this place again.

The sanitary conditions and hot spring facilities meet expectations. The biggest surprise is the location. It is actually located at the door of the niche and unique regretful Yuan. Put down your luggage. One person went to the empty attraction and walked around quickly. The sound of running water was in his ears. Going to the station, a bit inconvenient, take a taxi back and forth, the price is acceptable, about 1,500 yen a way.

NNieva MayThe place is a 25-30 minute walk from the Tobu Nikko station, but you can actually take bus going there. However we didn't know the buses only run until 3 in the afternoon so we had no choice but to walk an uphill road. However it was a very fun experience and the hike was worth it as soon as we were able to take a rest in this humble pension house. The owner was very accommodating, gave us strawberry ice cream and even offered us a ride to the station the next morning. I would say that this place gave us the best definition of ”omotenashi”. Someday when we go back in Nikko , we'll surely stay here once again.

Llinlin兒When we arrived grandma missed our order. But it was dealt with quickly. We took this dad on the trip. We enjoyed 3 days and 2 nights. The old lady cooked a sumptuous breakfast and dinner every day. They were very delicious and I was very full after every meal. We were also very satisfied with the meal. The B&B faces the mountains and the sea. The scenery is beautiful. Great stay . I really like it. Thank you, grandma. Our family of 3 had a lot of fun

Ttolyazek@mail.ruEverything was great! We lived here for three days in April 2024. The hosts are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and large, so during the day we didn’t even want to have lunch while walking. Everything in the room is clean and tidy. The place is quiet and beautiful. Nearby there is a large supermarket with everything you need. The bus stop to the waterfalls and lake is also very close. There is also a public onsen nearby, we had a good time there too. In general, we really liked everything! Thank you!
