GGuest UserThis small, beautiful hotel is tastefully decorated with Japanese art and objects. We chose Western-style beds. The room was spacious and airy. Sandals are provided for walking in the hallways; no shoes or sandals on the room’s traditional mats.
Breakfast and dinner are high cuisine, artfully presented in private dining rooms. The set dinner menu is 7 courses and way too much food, even with small individual portions of each serving (similar to a tasting menu, but highly traditional Japanese). The sashimi was the freshest I have ever eaten. The chef accommodated our dietary restriction of no meat. Shuttle vans can be arranged for pick up and drop off at train stations and local shrines. The staff’s English is limited so find a good translation app.

GGuest UserThe food was very good. Dinners were excellent, served to us in a private room. The outdoor.Onsen Was a pleasure. Travelers should be aware that this hotel is not located near the fabulous temples And shrines of Nikko. Instead, it takes two local trains to get there. The hotel has wonderful views of the river but the area is overbuilt. So pluses and minuses.
The hotel was very strict about its check out policy.

溜溜溜辣This is one of the best experiences I ever had in a Onsen hotel! The dinner is a must try. As we arrived in the place, we got into the cultural and historical atmosphere immediately. Walking to the dinner venue via the wooden bridge feels like entering another world. The dishes are delicious and follow seasonal menu using local ingredients.

GGuest UserMy first time visit to Japan and I was after an authentic Japanese accommodation. I booked a Japanese Style room with futon beds which were very comfortable. The room was beautiful and very clean. My booking also included breakfast and dinner which were always outstanding, beautifully prepared and unique food items. They utilized farm to table dining and the women explained each item served. They provided and encouraged one to wear Kimonos’s /tabi socks / slippers during one’s stay at, “ Nikko Iwaiyado Juyan “. Which further contributed to the authentic Japanese vibe. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The hotel is nestled within mountains and the setting serene. Hotel is family owned and they take pride in caring for their guests.

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at Kamenoi Hotel! The hotel is conveniently located right in front of the lake (＜1 min walk from the 湖畔前 bus stop). The rooms were very clean and comfortable, amenities were great as well (indoor and outdoor onsen, free ramen during supper time). Do note that there is no shower in the room.

SSa15I stayed here for my birthday. The best thing about it was that there was a bath in the room. I also went to the large public bath, but it was empty, probably because everyone else was using the baths in their rooms.
Being able to use the ReFa hair dryer was also a nice touch.
I had asked for a celebratory plate to be served with the meal, but they forgot to bring it out, so if you're planning a surprise, it's a good idea to double-check in advance.

AAnonymous UserThis was my first time staying at a Hoshino Hotel in the Kai series, and I was very satisfied. The ”Kai” hotel in Nikko, especially the cable car, is definitely worth the experience. The hotel is very close to the station, seemingly nestled in the mountains, but it's actually just a short walk from the hot spring town. It's bustling yet secluded.
The decor is a distinctly Japanese style, combining minimalism with a wabi-sabi vibe. I personally love it. Those who enjoy this series will appreciate it, but those who prefer extravagant and elaborate décor wouldn't recommend it; they'll be disappointed.
The hotel also offers free coffee and tea, as well as unlimited juice and ice cream, so children will have more fun than adults. The hot springs are incredibly beautiful. During cherry blossom season, the hot springs are right outside, and during autumn foliage season, the mountain courtyard is filled with vibrant colors.
Overall, the hotel isn't large, resembling a small resort, but it's packed with details, views, and activities. There are free evening performances, the kaiseki dinner is exquisite, and the Japanese breakfast is also very delicious. A hotel worth experiencing: upscale yet not intimidating, the service is very pleasant.
In addition, there are a lot of fun theme parks and attractions nearby in just five minutes’ drive. This is also the reason for the recommendation.

It is surrounded by virgin forests such as lush white birch and larch in Oku-Nikko, Lake Yuno, and mountains. Famous as a trout fishing resort, it is a hotel where you can spend time relaxing and comfortable.
Yumoto Onsen, a hot spring that opened in the Nara period, is a turbid sulfur spring. It was one of the three national hot springs designated for the first time in Showa 29. One of the places.
Transportation: Take the train to Tobu Nikko Station or Nikko Station, then change to the bus Yumoto Onsen Line Bus (approximately 80 minutes), and get off at the end of Yumoto Onsen Bus
Pick up from Kyuka Village (reservation required) or walk for about 7 minutes.

GGuest UserThe location was an hour away from Nikko. The lobby was fairly refurbished but the Japanese style room was kinda out dated. Dinner and breakfast were fun experience. We enjoyed our stay but if you are looking for something near Nikko, this is not it. If you are finding a quiet place to relax, this hotel does offer a unique experience
