Third time staying at this hotel. The hotel has been refurbished and the facilities are relatively new. The room is big and the view from the window is good. The open-air bath is a mixed bath, and there are women-only time slots. Many hotel service staff are Eastern European or Southeast Asian, and English communication is barrier-free.

Extremely remote (nearly a 3 hour bus ride from Kinegawa Onsen Train station into the winding mountains) which was both an adventure and unnerving. Made to feel like a foreigner with little help in understanding the cultural norms as a newcomer to the onsen experience.
The in-suite onsen option was incredible, providing both privacy and ability to enjoy the experience as a newcomer free of the "ritual" imposed but not well explained for use of the public hot pools.
Hatcho No Yu was ultimately a memory for a lifetime but came with a less than supportive interface with staff who treated us like we didnt belong.

何回か宿泊しています。露天風呂は気持ちよくてお気に入り。現在は閉鎖されていますが以前あった崖の上の風呂は特によかった。料理もなかなかおいしく酒もうまい。最近は海外からの研修生がフロントや食事会場を任されているが特に問題ありません。毎回感じるのはおそらくこの宿の主人は過度な節約家で価格に見合うだけのホスピタリティを提供する意思がありません。冬場に泊まると広いログハウスは実に冷え込みますが、集中管理方式の暖房が極端に弱く設定されており室内で何枚も着込んで震えながら過ごすことになります。ちなみに内湯の脱衣所なども暖房が効いておらず極寒です。夏場に泊まるとその逆で、脱衣所には扇風機すらないので風呂あがりには汗がひきません。客が少ないと送迎バスも出したがりません。言い訳されるんですが、嘘はいかん。久しぶりの宿泊で変わってないなと感じたので、もう宿泊する事はないでしょう。お隣さん(加仁湯)は料理の質や部屋の新しさでは劣りますが、価格に見合うだけのホスピタリティは感じられます。風呂はどちらも気持ちよいので好みの差になります。総合的には加仁湯をお勧めします。

家族で利用しました。ロッジがとても綺麗で、とても快適でした。部屋風呂もあり、 子ども達が大喜びでした。料理もちょうど良い量でした。鴨肉のしゃぶしゃぶが美味しかったです。ただ、子どもには大人向けの料理なため、子どもは選べると良かったです。
温泉はとても良かったです。従業員の方々もとても丁寧でした。また利用したいと思います。

This was my second visit since September last year. Some of the employees remembered their return visits, and the customer service was as wonderful as ever. I thought it would be better to have hot water in the bathroom in the winter, so that was my only regret.
