The best hotel for my trip to Japan this time. The place is clean and cozy with the best view. The staff has guided us well on how to use the facility so we don't feel nervious even we are foreigners. Will go back there again.

The location is very good, by the lake, with beautiful scenery. The waiters all understand English, which makes communication easy. Every dish at dinner is introduced with care. The room environment is good, and it also has indoor and outdoor baths! Recommended!

There's nothing wrong with the hotel. Lake Chuzenji is right outside the window, and the surrounding scenery is pretty good, but the price is still a bit expensive.

The location is good, facing Lake Chuzenji, just get off at the No. 28 station and walk a few steps. Dinner was good. Breakfast was a buffet with relatively few varieties, but it was still filling. The room is quite large, but unfortunately the window is blocked and does not directly face the lake view. The best thing is the hot springs, with the strong smell of sulfur and hot spring flowers. Although there are only two pools, one outdoor and one indoor, the pool can be reserved due to the small number of people.

It should be specifically explained why the service in this hotel is poor: in fact, most of the hotel staff are non-Japanese and can speak Japanese, English, etc., and the service is good and friendly; however, the elderly man at the front desk, who looks Japanese, is very polite to the hotel staff. Passengers with Chinese passports showed obvious disgust... I can only experience many things, but cannot elaborate on them one by one. In one sentence: You are unlucky to meet him! The hotel has a good location, right by the lake. However, this is a guest house. You can't look at the photos online. It's clear when you actually enter the room. It's clean but very ordinary. The bathroom in the room needs to be upgraded to a higher level. Secondly, there is no elevator from the first floor to the fourth floor of the hotel, although the staff will take care of it. You carry your luggage up and down the stairs; however, the steps of the stairs are high. Going up and down the stairs by yourself is a good exercise. Passengers with inconveniences such as legs and feet are advised to choose carefully. Furthermore, the bathing pools are small and few: there is one outdoor one, which can accommodate up to three people. People (or people you know well can squeeze in); there is only one room, so five or six people can squeeze in; there are four shower faucets in total, as you can imagine. In addition, the breakfast was average and the dinner was pretty good and not expensive. In short, be sure not to meet the older man at the front desk (it's inevitable); your legs and feet must be in good shape; and you must be willing to pay for a hotel and stay in a guest house.

It is a relatively Western-style hot spring hotel with a small number of rooms. It has 4 floors but no elevator. The room area is relatively large and there is a terrace facing the lake, but the public bath is very small. The price-performance ratio for one night and two meals is OK, and there are not many restaurant options nearby.

The room is very large, the bed is very comfortable, two large sofas, a large toilet, a large TV, a large air conditioner, a large wardrobe, a large dressing table, a large window, a large window sill, everything is large, the breakfast and dinner are delicious, and the staff is very friendly.

The hotel is located by the lake and has a first-class view! It's a pity that there is not enough parking space! The rooms and catering are generally good, but considering the facilities and the quality of the catering, the price is a bit expensive.

Quiet little town, perfect for relaxing

About a 40 minute bus ride from the train station to the hotel on a very winding road. By the time, we arrived at our bus stop, it looked like a mix of snow and rain. Suddenly, it was winter in the mountains. Located across from the lake, this hotel is very traditional; providing pajamas and slippers as well as a Japanese breakfast (but also some Western options). The boiled tofu was a nice, gluten free option. We did not realize that it was common practice to arrive in your Japanese pajamas and slippers for breakfast. Our room was comfortable and more spacious than expected. We had a balcony with a nice view of the lake when it wasn't raining or foggy. The staff was very helpful. There weren't many places to eat near and around the hotel. Sometimes, it felt like a ghost town with stores, shops and restaurants closing early.

Enjoyed two nights at Hatago Nagomi, easily accessible via bus from Nikko's train stations. The ryokan has beautiful views of Lake Chuzenji. The staff were friendly and attentive, spoke excellent English, and went out of their way to take care of our group. Highly recommend the kaiseki dinner option.

We stayed 3 nights in a large room with 4 beds, 2 adults 2 teenagers. Just be conscious that the hotel is on Lake Chuzenji which is 30 or 40 minutes out of Nikko proper, served by a regular bus that goes up and down the mountain stopping at the different lakes, waterfalls, onsens, and historical sites. Hotel has own indoor and outdoor onsen which is fantastic. The chef does a nightly 3-5 course Japanese banquet which we found a bit challenging but was amazing. Different every night. The chef made our young daughter Japanese beef curry when she was struggling with the banquet.somewhat traditional, house robe and slippers in the house and so on. Definitely worth a visit.
