Fantastic stay! Highly recommend. This guesthouse is amazing value for what its offers.
The building itself is a bit older, so the interior is dated and aged. However, the rooms are very spacious, with multiple bathrooms and comfortable beds.
There is both an indoor and outdoor bath area. The outdoor bath house is intimate and private, perfect for couples looking to enjoy a soak together.
The owner that runs the guesthouse is super accommodating and an overall fantastic host. He speaks very limited English, but his hospitality transcends any language barrier.

The room was clean and the bath was reserved 24 hours a day unless there was a previous guest.
The hot water was very good (soft water) and made my skin smooth and the water was soft and delicious.
The breakfast was also very delicious.

It's been a long time since I last stayed at a pension, it had a homely atmosphere and it was fun! I arrived at Nikko early, but the owner was very kind to me and kept my luggage. I took a plan that included dinner and breakfast, and the meal was voluminous and beautifully presented on the plate. I took a leisurely soak in the private open-air bath with ultra-soft water, and even after coming back from Toshogu Shrine early in the morning for a run at Kemangafuchi, I was able to work up a sweat before breakfast, which felt great. The cost performance is great.

I stayed in a cottage, but it was dimly lit and it was difficult to put on makeup or read a book. I couldn't find an outlet, so when I looked for it, I only found an extension cord under the chest of drawers.
The full course dinner was a hit, but the taste was not good. It's not enough to make me happy, so I'm very disappointed. In particular, the beef fillet steak was overcooked and too dry. It's also a mystery that it comes with white rice.

I stayed at Twin with 5,000 yen per person + 2,000 yen coupon for Tochigi discount for one night. The rooms are large but rather worn out. The open-air family bath was comfortable twice in the morning and evening. Food is good. As the reviews say, the last steak was overcooked. The owner is very responsive.
