We went to this lovely hotel in the ‘Cloud Forest’ directly after National Holiday with our family of 4 (2 toddlers) and my parents. We had two Songyuan rooms which were totally amazing. Stunning view of the trees and river and extremely spacious and thought out. In fact the entire resort is beautiful and our kids LOVED the golf cart rides to dinner. We got very unlucky with weather as it poured the two days we were there but we still managed the walk to Chiang Kai-sheks villa and water feature - which was beautiful and interesting. On a slightly different note, with a western perspective there were a couple areas for improvement. Ideally the restaurant menus could be translated to English and left in the rooms (it’s a nightmare trying to translate a menu, pick what to order with 2 hungry kids at a restaurant). Also, the playroom wasn’t a playroom while we were there which was a big disappointment since it was raining. Not as advertised - just carpet in a room (which the kids did still have fun running around on). Finally, a good hiking map of the area in the room would have been appreciated too.

Thank to the hotel management, upgraded us. The environment was great. Food a bit pricy. The hotel room was fabulous and clean. Hotel service excellent. Prior to your trip the hotel management will call up to inform about weather, arrange for transport to pick up from train station. The price for transport are reasonable. Driver Mr Dan has great driving skill, caring and friendly.

About the 45-minute travel photo shoot (including 3 selected photos): Because it was a free project, we took it casually. It took less than ten minutes to produce three photos and took them away directly. The photos were taken very well. I feel that I saved the money for taking photos for my children this year. About 2 tickets for Shanglianggang: The hotel is in the scenic area. The housekeeper introduced that there are Chiang and Song villas and other attractions. We were tired and didn’t go to visit. If you like, you can try it. About the minibar on the first day: Fruits and drinks were given (but we didn’t drink them). In hot weather, mung bean soup was also given as dessert after the meal, which was very considerate. Then there was a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off during the stay, but the hotel itself has a good environment. Most of the time we prefer to walk around by ourselves. Finally, the housekeeper Yujie is really nice and meets some basic check-in requirements. There was also a small surprise. After breakfast the next morning, we saw a little squirrel in the hotel. The child saw the little squirrel for the first time and was very happy. I should bring friends to stay here if I have the opportunity in the future. It’s good and recommended!

It feels great to drink coffee in the woods. Meals: I heard that because the hotel is on the mountain, the ingredients are delivered from the bottom of the mountain. Although breakfast is self-service, there are not many varieties, and the taste is neither good nor bad. You can only choose a set meal for dinner. There are not many dishes, but the taste is okay. The photographer Zhishu’s photography skills are so great that I couldn’t help but pay extra to choose a few more photos.

Last year, we promised to visit again after May Day, and this year we did as promised. This time we booked Huajing, but the kids didn't like it. In general, the May Day trip was worthwhile. We also set up a tent on the lawn outside for half a day. The itinerary was perfect!
