"Transferred from Dongqian Lake to the Shangri-La in Ningbo city. Although it was a rainy day, I felt a warm welcoming atmosphere as soon as I entered the spacious and bright lobby. Despite a conference being held, and a lot of people around, everything felt busy yet orderly. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and upgraded me to a river view room. From the floor-to-ceiling windows, I could see the dazzling beautiful scenery where the three rivers meet. Although the room facilities are a bit dated, it was clean and tidy. If you have time, the hotel's Chinese restaurant, 'Shang Palace', is definitely worth trying."

"I enjoy staying at Atour hotels, and I'm even a member. The main reason is that I find their beds and pillows incredibly comfortable. This particular Atour was decent overall, but the soundproofing was a bit lacking. Given its proximity to the airport, they might want to consider installing double-pane windows. The plane noise wasn't the biggest issue though; it was mainly the poor sound insulation between rooms. I hope they can improve that."

"My friend and I enjoyed our stay here. We stayed here for 3 nights. After 8.30pm, the hotel provides complimentary 热牛奶 and 黑米粥. Besides this, they also provide complimentary essential oil for relaxation. In addition, there is milk and 艾草(Artemisia argyi) where you can place it in your bath. It was very heartwarming to receive a greeting message from the 管家 when we were back to the hotel after a long tiring day. Overall, my friend and I are very satisfied with the hotel and the good service of their staff."

The triple room is very large, the bed is also very wide, and there is a large balcony with a view of Meishan Bay. The hotel is on the ninth floor , you can park for free downstairs, which is very convenient."

"I visited last year and was very satisfied, but my experience this year was just so-so. I'm not sure if they're cutting costs and increasing efficiency, but they seem to be skimping on the air conditioning. The lobby wasn't cool at all; I was actually sweating while checking in. The corridor leading from the lobby to the guest room buildings had almost no AC, and it was very hot. The elevator also lacked AC and was sweltering. The windows in the guest floor hallway were closed tight with no AC, and there was a strong musty smell. The room itself had a musty smell upon entering. If you try to open the balcony door for ventilation, the AC stops working. I'm not sure if they used too much disinfectant on the bed linens, but my skin felt very itchy while sleeping, to the point of waking me up in the middle of the night. The hotel's pest control is also inadequate; I still got many mosquito bites even after applying repellent. Plus, the toilet paper in the room was paper-thin. The overhead shower needs fixing; the water sprayed everywhere. They've cut costs so much that there are only two bottles of mineral water in the room. There was only one pack of tissues, so after washing my hands in the bathroom, I had to go to the room to get paper, which was ridiculous. The only things that haven't declined are the service at the Chinese restaurant and the staff at the go-kart area."

"I stayed here once last year and it was ok. I booked the same room type and stayed in the same room. This time I paid 200 yuan offline. It's not worth the price. There was a bad smell when I entered the room, and I found a pair of legs. I was worried that they would climb onto the bed at night. There was no service at all. There was no one at the front desk. There was not even a bath towel. I gave feedback to the front desk in the morning and it seemed that they didn't care at all. There was even less in the morning. They just asked you for porridge, noodles and wonton. I'm sorry for the price of nearly 1,000. The price of other five-star hotels near Dongqian Lake is similar, and the service is a world apart. I really don't recommend staying there. The service is poor. The experience is zero. The first bad review (I wanted to see the scenery, but I couldn't see anything). I stepped on the pit. No one stayed there. I really don't recommend it."

Grand New Century Hotel Ningbo
"Compared to other New Century Hotels, the New Century Grand Hotel Ningbo really needs a major upgrade. It falls short in many aspects. Breakfast often involves long queues. It took ten minutes for noodles and five minutes for coffee. Several stations had lines, and there was only one working coffee machine – the other was broken for both days of my stay. Staffing was clearly insufficient; only one female attendant was constantly clearing tables and clearly overwhelmed. I arrived at the restaurant at 9 AM. On the first day, I wanted soy milk, but was told they were out and would get some from the kitchen. I finished my meal and still didn't see any soy milk. On the second day, sticky rice was gone by 9:30 AM. While I understand that the hotel rooms are old and some facilities might not work perfectly, the flickering overhead light that was never repaired is unacceptable. Their service awareness is also frustrating. On the first day, the front desk asked me to add them on WeChat. I thought it might be a hotel concierge sending check-in info or travel tips, so I added them. However, I didn't receive a single message during my two-day stay. Yet, within half an hour of checking out, they called asking for a good review. I was on the highway when I got the call from the Ningbo hotel, thinking I might have left something behind. I rushed to answer, only to find out they wanted a positive review. They then followed up with several more WeChat messages and texts asking for a good review. With this kind of 'service,' I honestly can't give a good review, sorry."

"The hotel's public areas have the most stunning soft furnishings, with a clever blend of fabrics, metal, and original wood. The throw pillows and art pieces in the lounge areas subtly incorporate elements of a port town and waterside scenery, and the color scheme is sophisticated without being ostentatious. During check-in, Chloe patiently explained the design concept behind the soft furnishings, and the process was handled efficiently. Every detail of the soft furnishings in the lobby and hallways stands up to close inspection, making it easy to snap stylish photos anywhere."

"This hotel largely maintains its old five-star standard. The cleanliness and food were both great, and the service was good too. The location is excellent, making it easy to get to all the attractions. However, some details could use improvement, like the dirty windows and the grimy-looking kettle – I didn't dare boil water for two days. Also, after a long day of sightseeing, I turned on the 'do not disturb' light, but a staff member still knocked twice. I wanted to write a 'do not disturb' note to put on the door but couldn't find any paper or a pen in any of the drawers. Overall, it's still a good place, and it would be even better with some minor improvements to the details."

"The hotel staff is very nice and I especially want to thank 小孟 for going the extra mile to communicate with us in English and to make sure we knew where everything was. He also helped get us the shuttle car to go to the restaurant and for check out. The only thing I would suggest is that the hotel tries to improve the on-site fishing experience. My husband and I enjoy recreational fishing, which is why we were attracted to this hotel, but the fishing area was very dirty with fruit peels, trash and fishing line lying around. I dont want to go too much into it, but because the fishing was advertised as on-site on Trip.com, it would be nice if the fishing area was as well maintained as the rest of the hotel. If youre not fishing, I can say the rest of the experience was good and worth it."
