Extremely hot room and no fans to offer guests. Soft and uncomfortable bed. Only 1 bath towel in a double room. Asked for another bath towel to be delivered to room and was given 3 hand towels 🤷🏼♀️

Wasn't actually able to stay at the hotel sdue to an error in their system. The hotel were accommodating to try and get is booked in on 3 extra dates but unsuccessful. Refused a refund on the issue. Can't say alot more other than a shame we were unstable to stay.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights with family. But would say have had a worst experience of our life. The entire hotel is full of spider webs. The room is in a terrible state, with broken and rusty furnitures, broken bed, full of dust and spider webs. My little one got so much of rashes cause of the insects in the room. We booked breakfast with room and that was the worst choice ever. The breakfast consisted of ready croissants, pancakes, waffles and some stale cut fruits. No eggs nothing. Please do not book this hotel as you will be wasting your time and money. Rather look for some decent hotel.

This hotel is close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. Both are within around 20 minutes driving distances. It is located in a Matlock village, lots of walking routes you can enjoy.

When I see a hotel with mixed reviews, I nearly always have to go and see for myself, but this hotel deserved the bad reviews. We paid for a superior room and the photos below will show you how dirty it was. I would hate to see what a standard room looks like. The reception rooms and bar were very nice and comfortable. Unfortunately, the breakfast was terrible fatty bacon scrambled egg that tasted disgusting hashbrowns soggy toast and cereal were average. Looking at the reviews in the past the management do not read them or comment. I think they need to do this Which would help them to get their hotel in order. Will I return no?

Terrible. Booked the spa. Got made to sit in a waiting room for half hour when we had paid for spa access. Ended up getting a refund (hopefully)! Learn some front of house skills receptionist, you were shocking! Dismissed us completely. And had the nerve to look us up and down. We’ll earn more cash than you ever will pal!

Having read some of the reviews we lowered our expectations. The hotel, although in need of updating was perfectly fine for our needs. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool, geo-thermal fed, has no chemicals and is absolutely wonderful. We had 55 minute massages and Charlene, our masseuse, was amazing - highly recommend. The Spa area is small with a relaxation area, a jacuzzi, steam and spa rooms. Again a little tired, but we were informed it is due for renovation soon. We had our evening meal at the hotel and it was very tasty. All in all, a really lovely one night stay.

Beautiful building, staff friendly and welcoming. Spa staff and facilities fabulous. The bedroom really let this place down. The shower had no power whatsoever. The carpet was stained in multiple places. Curtain hanging down. No bulb in one of the lamps and had bare wires exposed! Visited reception the same evening to complain and was told nothing can be done as no other rooms available. This was booked as a treat for my partner and I spent the weekend embarrassed at what I'd booked! The dining rooms are lovely and the evening meal was beautiful. Would highly recommend using the lido!
