This is a terrible place for a person expecting a good nights sleep in a clean environment. I ended up staying in what felt a converted shed. It was cold and damp. The bedding felt wet to sleep in as it was so damp. I ended up sleeping in my t-shirt i was so cold. The pillows where brown and dirty. The carpet had not been hovered. The electrics tripped 3 times and i had to keep putting the switch back up. The tv didnt work. I had to keep getting up to use the buttons on the tv itself. The screen wasnt pink. The bathroom window did not have a cover on it, so the owners whilst walking their dog could look in. so i ended up taping a carrier bag to the window. The draft was so bad from the rear door it was blowing the key chain in the door. I actually contemplated packing up in the night and going to sleep in the van. The only good thing was the eggs in the morning which was served on burnt toast. Definitely would not advise sleeping in the shed in the winter. Will never book this place again and it should not be listed as a hotel as all the pictures displayed are not even pictures of the shed i stayed in. All where of the main house.

What a quirky lovely house. We were met by Leo, a lovely lad who showed us to our accommodation. The room we were in, was large with a double bed and a bed settee which was very comfortable. Across the small corridoor was a huge bathroom with loo and walk in shower. Leo brought us fresh milk and offered a cafetiere for fresh coffee. Breakfast is included, but only a small choice of poached eggs (beautiful) with homemade chutney and bacon from their own hand reared piggies. Breakfast was served in your room . This B&B is different but well worth a visit to see how a B&B can be run by sustainable resources. Set in 2 Acres of land you can see how the lawns and fields are all left to invite nature to nurture. You can even book a massage. Sadly, I had no time but maybe next time. Loved our stay and will be back.

Lovely character property with a big room. Mungo was very accomodating and helpful throughout our stay. As it is an old property it was a little chilly in the morning.

Beautiful setting. We got a very warm welcome. Room felt very private as we had our own front door. Room was much bigger than we expected, we had a sofa, TV, fireplace and large comfy bed. Felt very homely. Accommodated for our dietary requirements too. We stayed for a nearby wedding but would definitely stay again if needed. Only thing I would do differently is booking in a massage with Mungo earlier. I left it last minute to ask and he was booked up, so if you fancy a massage during your stay ask early. They were very helpful and friendly. Thank you for the stay!

Stayed here for one night on our way to Manchester. Was easy to find and park. We were given directions to our room before we got there. Looking at the house there looked no sign of life. You walk down the side of the big house where you come across a purpose built chalet type of room. The key was in the door ready for us. It was lovely and warm and tidy. Tea, coffee and milk supplied, and also toiletries which were very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. Now for downside. Lots of cobwebs especially in the bathroom, extremely cold tiled bathroom floor, rock hard towels, a dirty booklet with information about the land, maybe have it laminated as it had stains all over it. Although a free breakfast is available it’s not your normal English breakfast, you have to pay extra for a few slices of bacon! No sausages, beans, toast, tomatoes. In the disgusting book it mentions about the sustainability of the land etc and how they don’t use the swimming pool or hot tub as it’s used for rain water and uses too much electric. So if you don’t use it why put it in the booklet. The garden needs a complete makeover, the grass is very tall. Also the old garden furniture and blankets hanging up on make do washing lines reminded us of a commune. Although it was a very peaceful stay we won’t be staying again.
