receptionist Daniel(male) was horrible. He almost denied me entry as I did not have a passport.I showed him my work ID with photo for which refused.I had stayed here twice before and the stay was good and the staff(females )were very polite. However guy was arrogant and discriminative. He said he wont bothe if i don't rebook the hotel in future.I came to rest after ork and this guy pissed me off and could not sleep well due to this horrific experience from the receptionist.I was very upset because of this guy. When I told him that i stayed there before twice for which he started blaming his colleagues and said they did not do their job properly. This guy needs serious professional ethics training to behave well with customers . He was indifferent in his poor attitude and said he wont bother if I rebook or not!

Hotel is very conveniently located for city centre, right next to Lace Market tram stop. A ten minute walk from railway station. Five minutes walk to Old Market Square. On the edge of Hockley with loads of restaurants and bars within a two minute walk. Car parking available in Lace Market Car Park opposite. This is our second time staying at a Leonardo hotel. Reception were amazing!! Very helpful and informative about transport links and general sight seeing. Breakfast was not as good as the Leonardo I. Milton Keynes. Their fruit selection was a little poor, however the staff were friendly and accommodating. The bath in the room is the smallest one I have ever seen 😂 Albeit the power of the water in the shower and taps is 👌🏽 and quite possibly the best I have seen. Over all, a nice hotel! The beds are very comfortable and will rival any premier bed. We will defo be staying again 😍

A friend and I came for afternoon tea this week and I am sorry to say that the food or lack of was the biggest of disappointments. The decor was lovely and the service we received from the young gentleman was exceptional. Regarding the food or lack of: the 3 tier stand consisted of x4 tiny crust less white bread finger sandwiches each on the lower stage (mediocre fillings), the middle stage had the equivalent of a small espresso cup each of carrot & orange soup & a pinch of salad leaves and the top tier held a small dense scone each with one small pot of cream and jam to share. The waiter then brought in separately a plate with a cupcake, a tiny amuse bouche style tart and an equivalent size square of chocolate cake each. For a £25 per head price tag, despite the lovely setting, the cakes could have easily been placed on the cake stand and there would still have been plenty of space remaining! Sorry Colwick Hall but you really need to up your game! Afternoon teas elsewhere really put you to shame 😳

The hotel is conveniently located. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable. We used the spa but not the gym. Both were well equipped and maintained. Good for relaxing after the journey. There was no evening dining as it was a Sunday but that had been well signposted beforehand so we were able to arrange an alternative. Staff were very helpful and professional at all times. Would not hesitate to rebook.

We stayed in the hotel over the weekend (Fri, Sat & Sunday) as we were attending ”The Gloworm Festival” with other family members who were glamping. The room was small, but was perfect for our activity which was get up, get ready, and go out to the festival! We slept like logs as the beds were nice and comfy. Using the bedroom as a base to be located in and to safely store our belongings was perfect. The TV in our room was the size of a postage stamp but who cares, we were at the festival. It fit the bill for our needs so we give it a thumbs up. On leaving we spent a few minutes chatting to a lovely staff member who brought some festive cheer to my mood (I am sorry I did not catch the gent's name but we will call him ”Santa Klaus” for those who know! But what a lovely man to have at the reception desk. Was it the best hotel I have visited, no. Was it the worst, no. But for our weekend it did all we asked for and for all that was needed. A safe warm place to sleep with safe parking and nice staff.

GGuest UserIdeal location for me to walk into town for shopping and eating out. Staff were excellent from reception to house keeping. Room service meals were good too Was a little disappointed as the bath was in need of replacing. The surface had peeled away and whilst it was ok for the shower, you wouldn't want to soak in it.

GGuest UserI came to the Crown Plaza, Nottingham for a conference early June. The hotel itself was nice, modern and comfortable. My room was not adequately cleaned as there were hairs in my shower upon arrival, unreplenished hygiene products in the bathroom and the toilet uncleaned. The room Itself was small, but fine for sleeping in. My TV did not work, but as it was one night this wasn’t a bother. The breakfast and lunch were great, formal dinner however was awful and poor, not worth paying for. Servers were unversed in allergen training, and the allergen and dietary requirement food options were awfully poor. The manager on duty however, was apologetic and wonderful. The best thing about this hotel was the staff (excusing F&B teams poor allergen training and food options). Particularly Abigail, Malakai and Zak on the bar who were so warm, polite and accommodating. Wonderful service throughout and a credit to the team. Thank you three.

GGuest UserNow, I can't speak for everyone's experience as I'm sure opinion will vary but I can o ly speak to my experience. So here we go... Me and my partner arrived earlier than expected and the hotel was extremely accommodating and checked us in right away. We got a room on the ground floor, which had a door that opens into the court yard at the back of the resteraunt. It was really lovely. The rooms was clean and beautiful, I found absolutely no faults in the room. I have stayed in many hotels that claim to be 4 star but usually aren't based on one thing or another. This is what a proper 4 star hotel should be like in my opinion. The food at the resteraunt was very flavourful and dessert was amazing. They also have room service available. The breakfast buffet..... Was absolutely incredible. They had a broad selection of foods, there was literally something for everyone. I had a full English and it was SO good. Honestly I didn't want to leave The staff are very friendly, professional and they were always on point, period. We were originally going to stay at the Premier Inn or Holiday Inn but I am so glad we chose this hotel instead because we had an amazing experience and I'd loveto come back. If you're going to be in the area, don't hesitate, honestly you won't regret it.

GGuest UserIt’s very convenient to live in Mercury Hotel to plan a tour in Nottingham. Regarding the excellent location, I can only take 1-minute walk to the tram station named Lace Market, it takes you to Beeston or remote retail outlets within couple of minutes. Also, I takes leisure walks within few minutes to city centre for shopping at M&S, Primark, Victor Centre, etc. Besides, you may never forget supports/advice from the enthusiastic and knowledgeable hotel teams.

GGuest UserWe chose this hotel as we needed to be close to QMC for a couple of days (less than 10 mins walk). From start to finish the experience was great. The staff were lovely - nothing was too much trouble. Lovely, spacious room overlooking the lake and wonderful bird spotting. Great to be able to park free of charge and walk to QMC. Breakfast excellent value and a great choice. Buses into Nottingham from the top of the road. Our No 1 choice for our next visit.

GGuest UserRoom very out dated and disappointing, loud bathroom fan that kept me up all night and no plug next to the bed (only on the other side of the room). Tea tray is tucked in to a cupboard with a false drawer so is dangerous when opened as you don't expect the whole cupboard to open on your arm. Breakfast was disappointing, both hot and cold selection were dry as if they had been sat for a long time. Not what you expect for £130 mid week stay. Only positive was the great staff at breakfast who were very friendly. Would not come back to this hotel if I was in the area.

GGuest UserMy husband and I have just returned from an overnight stay in this hotel. It must have been recently decorated as it is so clean and fresh everywhere. Our room was huge, with a super-king size bed comfortably accommodated within it. Lovely comfortable bed and clean bedding, and a bottle of water provided for each of us. There were tea and coffee making facilities; very welcome after a trek up and down to the castle! The bathroom was well-appointed, modern and clean. We had a view over the adjacent church, and although a footpath passed by we were not disturbed at all. The hotel is well-placed to visit the city, and there is a car park just round the corner. The parking fee is reduced if you verify your parking ticket at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Cock and Hoop next door doesn’t serve meals on a Sunday evening, but it didn’t matter as there is a range of restaurants within a few minutes walk. The building itself is old, and very interesting with steps up and down all over the place. Very attractive and quirky. Our breakfast was delicious. I have only one small issue. There is no plug near a mirror for using a hairdryer or hot brush, but that doesn’t detract from the score.

GGuest UserLovely hotel. Great buffet breakfast. Lovely friendly staff on the desk. Executive king room was lovely and cleaned and replenished every day. Happily stay there again. One issue was parking as hotel car park was unavailable but an NCP car park is on the doorstep to use at a discounted rate but still worked out very expensive for 3 days. Would still not put me off staying there again.

Thank you Bestwood Lodge for pulling off the best day of our life. We got married here recently and we have been planning this for almost 2 years with Bestwood Lodge and I must say all my appointments were very attentive and helpful. Brent and the team understood the assignments and I know I very demanding at time but nothing was too much for him and I could trust him to delivery and plan our day smoothly. All our guests have said how perfect and smooth the day was, from the checking into the rooms as most of our guests were staying in the hotel. Rooms were ready early for people to get change before the ceremony in the chapel at 2pm. My husband’s mother was booked into one of the new accessible room which are very nice and spacious and close to the Chapel. The music in the ceremony was spot on. Even though I left my usb with songs at home. Brenton quickly downloaded the songs on his phone and saved the day. The flowers and the decorations in the ballroom was amazing and the room was layout just as we wanted it. Some of our guests were fussy eaters but all the courses were 5 star quality and the presentation of the canapés and variety in the buffet. The food was definitely a highlight. I must mention that all the bar staff on the day worked really well and service was with a smile and keeping the bar stock. Thank you bestwood lodge for making our wedding special and i am sure some of our friends will be using your venue again. We have already booked to stay again in the accessible room for our anniversary. I also would like to mention Housekeeping team thank you for waiting around and sort our room out the first night and for all our weird requests x
