Great location, great service. I was lucky to have my room upgraded to superior for free (the room was super spacious) and they provided Elemis amenities! Really comfortable stay.

The hotel staff are still polite and friendly, but unfortunately I checked in at 3 o'clock. I arrived on time but told me to come back at 4 o'clock. I tried the hotel breakfast, and it was delicious.

Rooms are dated and in need of some refurbishment. Scuffs on paint work, stained carpet and ceiling. Kettle in room cracked and grubby so I didn't use it. Room overlooked a flat roof. Decomposing bird and someone's discarded clothing enhanced the view. I mentioned this to lady on reception who couldn't have cared less. Breakfast wasn't worth the money. A bowl of cereal which was fine. Had some grapefruit which can only be described as having an unpleasant fizz. As if it had been sat fermenting under a warm light. Didn't bother to mention it following the response from reception the day before. Bathroom and bedding clean but glad I was only booked in for one night.

The hotel has a very central location which gives pros and cons. Our room was on the first floor at the front, which meant it was very noisy from trams (the glass shelves noisily shook each time) and late night revellers. The room was also very cold, despite aircon being on to a high temp. It had warmed up by the morning! Maybe a positive for a summer stay. Bed was very nice and comfortable and the room a good size. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially with our car & parking.

Situated handily for all the city centre attractions. You can prebook a parking space for £15.50. We're allowed to check in early. Nice bar overlooking the street below. Clean well appointed rooms. Good choice at breakfast, with lots of hot items and cold offerings. The lady at breakfast was very friendly. Good choice and for 1 night it did everything I would have hoped for.
