Lace Market Hotel

This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here and I would stay again, quite small rooms but have everything you need. Staff are friendly and helpful

Lovely hotel - couldn’t get a better location sadly let down by the size of the room (bathroom was ok) but bedroom was very tight. By far the worst problem was a lack of working air conditioning. It was a hot night and although an air con unit was in the room we couldn’t get it to work no matter what we tried. Due to the heat, sleep was a scarce commodity during our stay. If we’d have booked for longer than a night I would have not have slept in that room again if there was working no air con.

Afternoon tea was amazing compliments to cristina the chef and Victoria who waited on us , it was a lovely experience , nice surroundings, lovely chilled Prosecco and choice of teas or coffees, cristina came out to talk to us and other customers which I thought was very nice.

My husband and I visited for Afternoon tea which was a gift from a friend, everything was lovely from the friendliness of staff to the lovely food made by chef Cristina she makes the most amazing scones thank you Cristina for serving us a lovely fresh afternoon tea in a wonderful building

Very nice hotel, warm and welcoming.

The ground floor rooms have weird windows at the top of the wall as you’re a bit below ground level. However rooms are large, clean and have great bathrooms. Other guests made a bit of noise the night we were there which was a shame.

My recent visit to the UK marked my first return in several years, and I specifically selected this centre location based on a recommendation. The hotel, a charming and historic boutique establishment, proved to be excellently positioned within the city, boasting a delightful front office team. My stay included a lovely king room with picturesque views of Mary’s Church, spacious and cleaned to a very high standard. During our stay, my family joined us for a late lunch at the onsite pub, where Ademar introduced us to their craft ales, and we relished the outdoor seating on a rare sunny day. The reception team, exemplifying professionalism and helpfulness, ensured our comfort from the moment we arrived. Lewis warmly greeted us upon our weary arrival, Maddie was always on hand and promptly provided extra amenities when needed, and Curtis even attended to a minor technical issue in our room. Housekeeping promptly accommodated our requests, maintaining the room impeccably throughout our stay. Thank you for the bathrobe. Breakfast was a true highlight, featuring perfectly poached eggs and a hearty full English, was delicious and served with care by Carl, who elevated our dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend the Lace Market Hotel, where the exceptional team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure guests' satisfaction. A special acknowledgment to ALL of your reception team, Including Lewis, Maddie, Lol, Anastasia, Oliver, Hannah and Curtis, as well as F&B staff Ademar and Carl. Everyone we encountered was so helpful and friendly it was the icing on the cake to a lovely stay Only draw back the pillows were super soft! And the air conditioning unit was a little loud. But grateful considering it was 28c!!! I eagerly anticipate my next visit. Mr and Mrs Reed

The hotel cancelled our dinner booking 22 minutes before we were due to eat "due to unforeseen circumstances", the electric sockets in our room failed/tripped out twice, and the phone in our room did not work at all. As a seasoned travelling married couple, we have a reasonable idea what makes a nice stay at a well-run hotel, and this wasn't it. Your reviewer cannot recommend this hotel.
