Cozy hostel.
The owner/reception was not staffed on arrival, but a friend of the owner said that he would be back soon.
On arrival there was a power cut, there was a power cut again in the evening but I was in the shower.
The water in the toilet didn't always work, which is not so cool when mom shares the toilet with others.
You were constantly thrown off wifi and had to log in again.
Apart from this the staff were very friendly and helpful when they were there.

„Unverschämt“ Da kann ich mich der Bewertung von 2019 nur anschließen. First of all was dirty (look at the pictures). Yes I know at Zanzibar we do have an electricity problem but at the greens it was so often and I know that there is a way for hotels to have an better option. So to have no water for a day and no one cares is pretty stupid. I booked myself an room with an shared bathroom to have an Aircon. But the Aircon turns on and off the whole time and was not really working. I paid over 190 doller (what was not transparent to see in bookings it says I had to pay 179 doller…) for an unclean room with an broken Aircon. And the stuff is lovely but there English was worst. I decided to go to the hotel on the second night and I know that a few of the guest also left because it was so bad. In the end of all we had discussion with the owner she takes the feedback very personal but after all she gave us the money for one night. Never again 🫡

Sarah what a host! Such a lovely lady, it’s very reassuring as a solo female traveller to go somewhere so welcoming with lovely, friendly and kind staff! A small but cosy hostel. Very close to the beach also! I wasn’t the most comfortable going out alone but in the day there were a lot of people around and at night there’s always motorcycles that sarah can arrange or taxis! The place was so clean, constantly being swept, beds being made, bathrooms being cleaned. Breakfast that was included was amazing! For the value of the stay breakfast included: omelette, toast, fruits, juice and tanzania donuts. Coffee and yea available too! The bed was very comfortable. The towels were decent size. The pillows were fluffy! Overall a fantastic stay, please ignore any and reviews :) I stayed here for 5 days alone and my friends stayed nearby

Stayed at the Green’s Nungwi for six nights. I originally booked 2, but kept extending because I loved the area and my stay. Hostel is now run by new owner, Sarah, and she is amazing! Super helpful and friendly. I booked private backpacker room, smaller but perfect for my needs. Had all the necessary things like towels and sheets, and daily housekeeping was provided. Breakfast is excellent, there is security 24h and all the staff and new manager are nice and helpful! Hostel went through some renovation last year and this year, and is a great stay for backpackers, solo travelers like me, but even families! There are different options for different budgets!

Nice little place in the heart of Nungwi and only 5mins walk to the beach. I stayed in a private backpackers room, small but perfect for me despite having 2 suitcase full of stuff, still plenty of room to move around. Recently renovated and under new management, Sarah was a pleasure to meet. She has done the place proud, overall spacious grounds with good size pool and a lovely seating area. She was a great hostess, really helpful and very approachable. I stayed 16 nights and I couldn't fault the place one bit. Breakfast was hearty really sets you up for the day. Will defo be back soon.

Greens is a peaceful oasis in the middle of the teeming city of Nungwi, where you can safely land between your adventures in Zanzibar. The rooms are clean, there is a shared kitchen and fridge to use. The staff have worked there for a long time and are pleasant, accommodating and create a safe atmosphere. We appreciated their yoga/exercise area, the pool and the opportunity to ask all the questions we had as a tourist in a new place. The whole family warmly recommends booking your stay here!

I had a great experience at Green’s thanks to the friendly atmosphere and the staff who was so helpful. At Green’s there were many good things, like: - great breakfast which included fruit, egg and pancake - a pool to cool down - good places to relax - good cleaning of the rooms - good service for the guests - good walking distance to beaches and restaurants Thanks Sara and the rest of the staff for a wonderful experience.

We booked three nights. When we arrived we were very disappointed with the room. We were surprised because the reviews are quite positive. The room wasn't clean, it wasn't as advertised, it was even missing a toilet seat. We contacted our booking service, the agent contacted the property, and stated that we should go talk to Ali the manager and he would do everything to rectify the issue. We requested a refund which Ali agreed to. He cancelled our booking. We never received the refund. Our booking service told us the property rejected our refund, and marked us as 'no shows'.

Greens is a great hotel/ hostel they made me feel so welcome my dorm was so clean and I met some lovely people there. The owner sarah is amazing and really helps with anything you need and mohammed is so lovely the breakfast is really nice. I really enjoyed my stay there and highly recommend it lots of love Nicola xx
