"Location is perfect, next to restaurants and a few minutes walk from shops and bars. Beautiful rooms with all necessary amenities. Our only problem was the restaurant menu which was very limited, no beef or lamb at all and also very limited quantities. In breakfast, even if it was early nobody replaced empty trays. Moreover there was no kind of cheese or charcuterie!!!!"

We had our private view of the beach and never had to fight for a transat. The restaurant menu is varied with cocktails, grilled octopus and fresh catch of the day. Genuine and attentive staff, We went for our honeymoon and we were very well looked after."

"Maisha Lodge was such a beautiful place to stay. Tucked away from the bustle of Nungwi, it felt peaceful and relaxing while still being close to everything. The two pools were amazing and perfect for unwinding. The rooms had everything you could want and were very clean, modern, and comfortable. The beach bar was also a lovely spot to relax with a drink, and we had a great massage during our stay. The staff were helpful and quick to respond when booking tuk-tuks and tours for us, which made getting around really easy. Just expect typical tourist prices, as you’ll find in much of Nungwi."

"As previous reviews have mentioned, this hotel is old, dated and desperately in need of updating. Our room on the top floor had amazing views over the sea (the sunset was stunning) but the room itself was pretty grim. The first room was unclean to the point we refused to accept it and requested a different room (which was cleaner, thankfully). The bathroom was dated and not particularly pleasant to use. The bed was ok and the air con was great. Wifi was slightly unreliable. Access to the room was via steep steps (staff didn't offer to help with luggage). The pool area was....weird. It was set back in the garden section of the hotel and it felt a bit dark and unclean. We didn't see anyone use it during our stay. Breakfast was very basic,but staff at breakfast were friendly, as were the cleaners. Reception staff were not particularly friendly or engaging. Would not recommend."

"Me and the family had such a good stay at Game fish. Collin and Leslie were both very helpful and accommodating, helping us with everything from booking different trips to helping with blisters from our shoes. The best hosts for trips like these. Hilaly who is also working for game fish was an absolutely lovely man while keeping up with everything that needed to be done. He is so very kind and helpful. They served an outstanding breakfast every morning and dinner when requested. Game fish is in a very good location in Nungwi, it’s close to everything, but not in the middle of the crowds. It was easy to both get your own space but also go out and explore the beautiful place you’re visiting. Will definitely be staying here when I go back."

"Wonderful hotel! The hostess is wonderful! Amazing, delicious breakfasts! The rooms are clean and beautiful! Very bright and atmospheric! The bed linens, the bed, the shower—everything is nice and clean! There are cute, friendly dogs living there. All this creates a relaxing atmosphere! I really liked the guesthouse!!! Thank you so much to the hostess!!!! She's wonderful!!!!"

"Great location, two minutes from the beach, fresh, hot water (not every hotel on the coast has such a luxury). Wonderful restaurant, delicious food and reasonably priced. The room is spacious and fully equipped. The staff is very friendly and attentive. On the downside, the beach is seaweedy, and we sent our clothes to the laundry. They didn't wash them well and charged $11 for a few items."

The rooms are very bright and clean, good maintened and equipped with AC, fan, clean momosquito net ... breakfast is good - plate of tropical fruit, eggs by your choice, jam, 'nuttela', fresh juice, pancakes ... Staff is very friendly and helpfull."
