This is a nice no frills hotel with great location. Staff are friendly especially Salah who will go out of his way to help guests with anything. The hotel has a wonderful garden with Dik Diks, Guinea Foul, a monkey, and probably a lot more. It’s like waking up in a jungle so serene and beautiful. The pool is also located in the Garden. Rooms are basic but clean bathrooms could be updated. A/C worked well and the rooms also have a ceiling fan. Breakfast at the restaurant is ok, it is a la carte not a buffet. We had lunch once at the restaurant and the food was great. Location is wonderful, lots to do and other places you can walk to. Overall a very good experience at this hotel.

This is a nice hotel in a very busy area. We stayed in one of the sea view suites which was nice. The room had ac and a ceiling fan which made the room nice and cool. Fantastic views over the ocean from the balcony. Pool area with sun beds and animals walking around in the garden. Restaurant and sun deck facing the ocean. Lively at nights with music coming from the restaurant and surrounding bars and restaurants.

We booked the 3rd floor room because of the expansive view. The location was perfect, right in front of the ocean. It was breathtaking!!. To me this was the best part as I could watch the coming and going of the tides. An ideal place to recover, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility. We were in one of the sea view rooms with balcony which was ideal for watching the evening sunsets over the ocean. As long as I closed my eyes to the rundown aspects of the stinking bathroom, I truly enjoyed my stay there. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because of the bathroom issue. Loved the outside dining on the deck and lounging area. A few steps down and you're right in the ocean ..... awe-amazing! The pool area was very relaxing with birds chirping and beautiful flowers everywhere. Rasta the owner, has created a little wonderland with amazing lush green enclave with few free-roaming domesticated animals on his property. Love seeing the dwarf antelope! The room does need a little more maintenance but I understand how hard it’s to keep the properties near the ocean in perfect state. If you wish to experience true Zanzibar warmth and welcome ….. then Langi Langi is the place. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Conclusion: Overall it a beautiful place, we will surely come back again although, it's a long trip from Canada.

Positives - Beautiful location, warm and friendly cleaning, reception and kitchen staff. My children were safe and happy mingling with everyone. Booking was easy after emailing the contact on the website and at first, this contact was friendly. Be aware that there is a tax to be paid for all guests on the island. Do ask any hotel about these taxes prior to visiting as hotels are not transparent about these costs. Negatives - Over the three days we were there, unfortunately both the rooms called "Siti" and "Behole" bathrooms smelled like Urine and eventually like sewage. One room was leaking water from the bathroom pipes into the room. We notified staff daily over the course of the 3 days we were there to no avail. Upon leaving, we notified the booking agent who reminded us that we should have messaged him to step in from Dubai. He proceeded to argue with us on how great the hotel is, not understanding the issue of sewage, and became very defensive. Unfortunately, this was not a good end to our visit.

Amazing place, very friendly management and staff, located directly at the beach, amazing view. We are pleased to have been guests at Rasta's place, an amazing human being and manager and thankful to have met such friendly staff and experienced such an amazing place. Very clean. Showers, toilet, water, always working, never interrupted or stuck. Excellent restaurant (public, not only hotel guests) for lunch or dinner. From Currys to Pizza and Zanzibari (very hot!) dishes, everything made freshly and very kind waiters. Do not ecpect meat, such as beef or lamb or any else in Zanzibar, but excellent fish, seafood and chicken. Reason therefore is the import of meet from mainland, that mostly is not reliable. We loved everything from breakfast (if you expect continental breakfast in Zanzibar, then may prefer a different destination, not Zanzibar) Breakfast, contains from choice of eggs (omeletts, boiled, fried, pancakes and others) you order and itvwill be prepared freshly, variety of fruits, toastbred, soup, yoghurt, flakes, butter, milk, jam, coffee, tea, toppings for the pancakes and water. Always carry cash in Zanzibar, paying with cards is not really common. Better change into tansanian schilling, than paying with US Dollars. Beach boys are kind, even tough they may ask several times for selling things. Just smile asnd say friendly, if needed several times, 'Asante', which means.thank you in Swaheli. Not comperable with places like Egypt, Mainland Spain, Gran Ganaria, Turkey, where the beach boys are much more demanding and approaching to you. For us, every time again Langi Langi!

We had booked this hotel as the final leg of our Safari in mainland Tanzania. Expectations were high in line with the rest of our trip, only the reality was different. Nungwi beach resort has seen its best days. Structure is dated, rooms are old, creaky fans and leaky aircons remind you of times past. If you are used to hostels and looking to upgrade, then this could fit the bill. The staff are nice enough though and they tried to make amends. We checked out after two nights as it was not what we thought we had booked and paid for. The managers would not entertain refunding any part of the costs despite things just not being what they looked like on the photos. If you are looking for a clean, cozy place to stay, we’d suggest to look further.

We were in Langi Langi in September 2023. Positive: - convenient location, all restaurants, shops and discos are close. - cute dwarf roe deer live in the hotel ate bananas and greens from our hands. Negative: - STOLE of $700! They got into the safe box and stole the money! The hotel staff denied their guilt in every possible way, even in the presence of the police. After this incident, they stopped communicating with us and looked offended, although we were the victims! The hotel did not bring any apology. The money was not found. Probably shared between themselves and the police. - Rooms need repairing, the air conditioner does not cool the air. - They don't bring soap and shampoos. We had to go to the reception and ask for it ourselves. - The water in the shower flows in a thin weak trickle, it is impossible to wash. - Sudden hot water and electricity cuts every few days. - Meager breakfasts. They bring 3 small pieces of fruit and one egg dish to choose from and a pancake. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at Langi Langi for part of our honeymoon in Zanzibar. It was booked by the travel agency and it was definitely not what we expected to find according to the pictures and to the agency description. Our room (pool view) was very tight, shadowy, moist and not properly cleaned. The bed was uncomfortable and there was a lot of noise during all the night (music until late at night and people screaming since early in the morning). The breakfast was scarce and the food very poor. Overall the employees were kind and helpful even if they do not speak a very good English and sometimes the communication was difficult (it is however quite common in Zanzibar). After 2 nights (without sleeping at all due to the reasons above) we decided to move elsewhere. If you decide to stay here, please be aware that this is probably below the standard you would expect looking at the pictures on the website. I am not blaming the hotel, it was definitely a mistake from the agency since Langi Langi definitely did not respect our requirements. This is good for a shot stay in Zanzibar if you are looking for something relatively cheap and you are not planning to spend much time in the hotel, I would definitely not recommend if you are looking for something comfortable and elegant, as people usually are for their honeymoon!
